Image
Hello everyone, and welcome to the July 2026 Edition of the Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas with Deb and Lisa .  If you are new here, o n the 25th of each month, we (the Crafty Elves) post one or more holiday cards, with the hopes that we inspire you to make your own cards for the holidays.  You guys know I live on Etsy.  Well, I recently found a digital kit on Etsy filled with the quirkiest, most whimsical, and fun images to use for Christmas cards!  The kit is  Whimsical Christmas Doodles from Pink Lake Studio  on Etsy.  This collection has 156 images - traditional images of stockings, Christmas trees, reindeer, wooden soldiers, and lots of Santa images, as well as fun and quirky images of dogs, cats, women shopping, having coffee - there are so many to choose from.    To make these cards: After deciding which images I wanted to use, I printed two of each image on a piece of white cardstock.    I die-cut one of each of the i...

{BYSHC} Christmas In July 2026 Linky Party | Merry Christmas Cat Card

Image
Hey everyone.  Today I am sharing another Christmas card I made for the {BYSHC} Christmas in July 2026 Linky Party!     I used another image from Pink Lake Studio's Whimsical Christmas Doodles digital collection on Etsy.  With over 156 fun and whimsical images to choose from, I am having a lot of fun making cards using this collection.   To make this card: I made a top-folding A2 card base using red cardstock.  I printed two of the images I want to use - the 3 Christmas cats. I die-cut one of the images using a 3.75" x 5" stitched rectangle die, adhered a piece of fun foam under it, and then I adhered it to the card front. I fussy-cut the cats from the 2nd image and adhered them to the card front using small foam tape squares.       Lastly, I adhered small googly eyes to each cat's face.   Done.  It's that simple.   I will also be entering this card in two "anything goes" card-challenge blogs.  I...

{BYSHC} Christmas In July 2026 Linky Party - Day 2 | Merry Christmas Baubles Card

Hey everyone.  Today I am sharing another Christmas card I made for the {BYSHC} Christmas in July 2026 Linky Party!     I used one of the digital images from  Pink Lake Studio's  Whimsical Christmas Doodles  digital kit  on Etsy.  This collection has 156 fun and whimsical images, and I have so many card ideas in my head, it's crazy.  To make this card: Using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die, I die-cut a piece of white cardstock, embossed it with an embossing folder I picked up here in Brasil, adhered a piece of white fun foam to the back, and then adhered it to the card front.   I printed one of the images from the Whimsical Christmas Doodles Collection , die-cut it using a 3.25" x 4.5" stitched rectangle die, adhered a piece of white fun foam to the back, and then to the card front.   I don't need a sentiment because it's already part of the printed image so to add some fun to the card front, I applied Diamond Gla...

{BYSHC} Christmas In July 2026 Linky Party | Christmas Words Cards

Image
Hey everyone.  It's that time of the year again - the {BYSHC} Christmas in July 2026 Linky Party!  This is a great time to make some Christmas cards to help join the fun.   Last month, for my June Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas post,  I made some Christmas cards using leftover papers from a Christmas mini-album I had made a few months back.  The paper I used was an older collection from Echo Park called Reflections Christmas by Lori Whitlock.   You can find the digital version HERE . I didn't use the long red strip with all the Christmas words in white, so I made these two cards using it and will link them up in the {BYSHC} Christmas in July Linky Party . Card No. 1 Using white cardstock, I made a top-folding 3" x 7.5" slimline card base. I adhered the red-and-white striped paper to the front of the card base.  The long strip is 2" wide.  I cut from the word Jingle down to Memories, and layered it on a piece of red cardstock....

The Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas | November 2025 Edition | Sending Winter Wishes

Image
Hello everyone, and welcome to the November 2025 Edition of the Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas with  Deb  and  Lisa  - otherwise known as The Crafty Elves . On the 25th of each month, we (the Crafty Elves) post one or more holiday cards in hopes that we inspire you to start  making your own.  This way, come December, we have cards ready to mail or to give to people during the holidays.              For this month's card, I used a wood-mounted rubber stamp from The Artful Stamper that has been in my stash for a long time.  This is one of those stamps that I just cannot give up using.  Although this company went out of business several years ago, I bet you have a stamp in your stash that you can use in place of the one I used.   To make this card idea: I made a top-folding A2 card using white cardstock.   I cut a piece of white cardstock, embossed it with an embossing folder, adhered it to ...

Hello everyone, and welcome to the October 2025 Edition of the Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas with  Deb  and  Lisa .  On the 25th of each month, we (the Crafty Elves) post one or more holiday cards in hopes that we inspire you to start  making your own.  This way, come the holidays, we have cards ready to mail, to give to people, or to attach to a present or a nice bottle of wine.     .       This month, I decided to go really simple - AGAIN.  I made both of these cards using  Holiday Nostalgia Christmas Journal Papers  and  Christmas Word Snippets  - two digital kits from  KCS Designs by Kim  on Etsy.   To make these cards: I made 2 top-folding A2 cards using white cardstock. I printed the 2 images I wanted to use for the card fronts at 52%.  Then  I printed the Christmas Word Snippets at 100%, cut the 2 sentiments I wanted to use, layered them on a piece ...

Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas | April 2025 Edition | Spellbinders 12 Days of Stitchmas Card

Image
Hello everyone, and welcome to the April 2025 Edition of the Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas with  Deb  and  Lisa .  If you are new here, on the 25th of each month, we post one or more holiday cards.  This way, come November, we don't have to stress over making cards to send to people.  We hope to inspire you, and we hope you will join us.       This month I made a Christmas card using the dies from Day 3 from the 2024 Spellbinders 12 Days of Stitchmas Advent Calendar .  If you missed getting one of these Advent calendars or if you are still thinking about it, you can get one HERE .    Even though the dies in this "Stitchmas Advent" were meant to be stitched, I decided to use them in a different way and NOT stitch them - but bedazzled them.  While trying to come up with an idea for using this set of dies, the image below popped up in one of my feeds, and that is what I am using as inspiration for this card....
