Happy Pride Month 2023!

Image
Hey everyone.  Welcome to Pride Month 2023 and a new Equality For All "Pride 2023" Collaboration with Misty, aka The Jolly Fat Elf .  I won't go into a big blah, blah, blah about the hate being thrown at the LGBTQIA community since it's all over the news.  And, I want my posts this month to be fun, filled with Pride, rainbows, and lots of bright colors.   So, let's get started. Today I made a slimline card - an idea that has been in my head for over 2 years.  I love the "Converse" sneakers in the Stand Up For America digital stamp set from Polka Dot Orchard  and I have made many cards using this set for July 4th.  But, with the stripes on one of the sneakers, I've always seen a Pride card too, and it feels great to finally get this idea out of my head.       I started by printing one of the papers from the Rainbow Vibes Digital Paper Pack from Graciellie Design , and the Converse sneakers from the Stand Up F...

Flag Day Card / Independence Day Card / July 4th Card / Happy Birthday USA Card with Polka Dot Orchard

Image
Hey everyone and Happy Flag Day.  I remember being in elementary school and this holiday being a big day. We all learned about the flag and the importance of respecting it.  Nowadays...well...a different story.  I love this digital set from Polka Dot Orchard called Stand Up For America and the two sneakers are perfect for making a quick card for Flag Day, Independence Day, a July 4th invitation to a bbq, or just a birthday card for the good ole US of A.     I started by printing two of the sneaker images from the Stand Up For America set on a piece of white cardstock.  The 2nd will be used for another card idea.  I also printed one of the papers from the "4th of July Digital Paper Set" that I bought from  Bella Creative Design on Etsy.  And I made a top folding slimline card base from white cardstock, 4" x 9". Then I adhered the red, white, and blue design to my card front.  Using the Slim Stitched Rectangle Die Set from...

Spring | Summer Coffee Lovers Hop - Day 5 - Using Sentiments For Cards

Image
Hello everyone and welcome to Day 5 of the  Spring | Summer Coffee Lovers Hop .   Today I want to talk about something that is overlooked with many digital stamp sets - the sentiments.   Sentiments are not just for the inside of a card.  Let me show you what I mean. For all these cards I used the  Coffee Lovers Digital Paper Pack by Graciellie Designs , one of the coolest paper packs out there, and for the sentiments, I used 3 digital stamp sets from Polka Dot Orchard . I started by making 3 top folding A2 cards using white cardstock to which I adhered a different paper, from the Coffee Lovers Digital Paper Pack to the front of each card. For this card -  I used a sentiment from the Happiness In A Cup digital stamp set from Polka Dot Orchard .   I printed out the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock. Then I die cut it using a double-stitched rectangle die, adhered it to a piece of the same lig...

Spring | Summer Coffee Lovers Hop - Day 3 - Thankful For You Every Day

Image
Hello everyone and welcome to Day 3 of the Spring | Summer Coffee Lovers Hop .  Today I am working with a beautiful stamp set called Happiness In A Cup from Polka Dot Orchard .        I'm also going to enter this card in two card challenges -  https://aperfecttimetocraft.blogspot.com/2020/05/a-perfect-time-to-craft-open-challenge.html http://crafterscastle.blogspot.com/2020/05/may-challenge-29-april-winner.html I started by printing the image of the flowers in the coffee cup twice.  I used my Scan N Cut by Brother to cut one of the images and I colored the image using BIC Intensity Markers - both the Ultra Fine Tip and the Fine Tip.   I also made a top-folding A2 card base to which I adhered a piece of decorative paper from my stash (Botanical by Prima Marketing #842130/Retired). With the 2nd image, I fussy cut the 4 flowers and colored them using the same markers.  I also printed the sentime...

Crafty Elves Countdown to the Holidays - April 2020

Image
Hello everyone and welcome to the April 2020 Edition of the Crafty Elves Countdown to the Holidays.     How are you guys doing?  Holding up?  It's been a strange month for all of us and this is definitely starting to get to me.  The elves ( Debra ,  Lisa ,  Jessica , and myself) are all feeling it and it took a lot for us to make our cards this month.  But, this is what keeps me going even though my sanity is gone.  LOL   So, without further ado, here are my 4 Crafty Elf cards for April.  Please remember to check out the other Crafty Elves - Debra, Lisa, and Jessica - whose links to their posts are at the end of this post. Card No. 1   Last week I received a little card in the mail from my fellow Crafty Elf - Debra - along with a little present inside - the Hanukkah stamp I used on this card.   I was happy just to get snail mail let alone a little gift. Thanks again, Debra!!  ...

It Doesn't Matter How Slow You Go.....

Image
Hi everyone.  On Saturday I showed a card I made using the Anything Is Possible digital set from Polka Dot Orchard .  I printed two of the same frame and today I show you how I used the 2nd image to make  this "home decor" or desk project.   I colored the 2nd frame using my Prismacolor markers again but I changed the color of the flowers.  I also cut a piece of black and pink cardstock so that I can layer them, and I cut a piece of black cardstock using the Small Easel die from Tim Holtz/Sizzix (sadly, retired). I used the Angle Corner Chomper on the corners of the black and pink cardstock.  I adhered the black cardstock to the pink cardstock first, and then I adhered the frame to the black cardstock using foam tape - to give some dimension.   Next, I adhered the Small Easel to the back of the pink cardstock so that it can sit up correctly. To be honest, you could stop here and just put a nice photo in the ...

Beauty Begins The Moment You.....

Image
Hello everyone!!  I've lost track of what day this is let alone the number of days we have been in quarantine.  At least I am keeping busy, which also keeps me sane.  And, with 7 dogs....life is never boring here.   Today I have a special card or inspirational "home decor" piece.  I fell in love with this digital stamp set from Polka Dot Orchard called Anything Is Possible.   As soon as I saw the flower corner stamp and these sentiments, this idea popped into my head.  With so many people spending time alone these days, I am afraid that a lot of people might be questioning themselves.  And I think it's important to reinforce the facts that you can be whatever you want to me and you can achieve whatever you want as long as you believe in yourself.   I started by manipulating the corner image from the Anything is Possible set in Pages (on a MAC) to give a frame.  I sized it so that I could have two on one sheet of A4...

Follow Your Dreams....With A Snail...In A Camper

Image
Hello everyone.  I have a confession to make.  This card did not go planned the way I had intended.  The idea was in my head and when I was almost done with it, I realized it was not going to look right on an A2 card.  So I adapted it to a 5" square card.  But I still love it and hope you do too. I'm in love with coffee...snails...and campers stamps/themes so the Camper Snail digi set from Polka Dot Orchard was right up my alley.   I started by printing the snail to the size I wanted.  I fussy cut it with fine tip scissors and colored him/her in with my Ultra Fine Tip BIC makers (my fav).  I also used an R00 (Pinkish White) Copic marker for the snail.  And I added a tiny googly eye. For the city scene, I cut 3 pieces of yellow cardstock with the Cityscape Silhouette (Memory Box/98399/Retired) and a piece of green, blue, and red cardstock with Cityscape Nightline (Memory Box/98398/Retired).    I also cut a ...
