If You Give A Crafter A Cookie - Snowflake Challenge

Hello everyone!! Happy New Year - and welcome to 2020.  Crazy how time flies!  I hope everyone had a great holiday, whatever you celebrated and that you had a great New Year - because we all celebrate that!  With a new year comes new card challenges with the If You Give A Crafter A Cookie Challenge Blog .  The first challenge, Challenge No. 133, is all about "Snowflakes" and here is the inspiration photo that the Design Team had to work with should you wish to play along -  I know it's winter in many parts of the world but it felt a little strange to be making cards with snowflakes after the holidays.  But then I realized that it's never too early to start making holiday cards for 2020 and that is what I did.  I made two cards. I started by cutting my A2 top-folding card bases from a piece of 12x12 white cardstock.   With the excess part, I stamped two of the snowflakes from 4 by 4 Snowflakes  ( Anthony's Paper Craft...

If You Give A Crafter A Cookie Challenge No. 121 - The Beach

Image
Hello everyone!!  The beach!  I love and miss the beach!  Even though I live in Brasil, we are at least 2 hours (or more) to a beach and the traffic we have to deal with can be insane!  So I spend summers at the pool instead.  We are now in winter and that means no beach or pool here in the countryside of São Paulo but I can still make a fun beach card and imagine the sand between my toes! There is a new challenge over on the If You Give A Crafter A Cookie Challenge Blog .  It's Challenge No. 121 and it's all about the beach.  Here is the inspiration photo the design team was given to work with in case you want to play along with us -  The first thing I wanted was a sunset background.  I have a lot of distress inks but I recently got all of the Gina K Design inks and wondered if they would work the same way.  I found this nice color combo from The Colours of Magic , an Instagram account I follow.  Next, I picked 5...

Quick Butterfly Card with Anthony's Paper Craft

Image
Hello everyone.  I feel terrible as I have done it again - disappeared from the blog.  I seem to post more to my Instagram and Facebook pages than I do to my blog but I will try to work on that.   Today I have a quick card that I made using two images from Anthony's Paper Craft .  A butterfly background stamp called " Butterflies 1 ", which has 11 beautiful butterflies on it and a sentiment called " Thinking of You ".  I love Butterflies 1 a lot because you can use the whole image as a background image or just use some of the butterflies, as I did with this card.     I started with my A2 card base of white cardstock to which I adhered a piece of decorative paper from an old paper pad from Recollections called Valentine.  (I am trying to use up all my older papers). I cut a strip of white cardstock, 2" x 5.5" and, using my Misti and Jet Black Amalgam ink from Gina K Designs , I stamped the Thinking of ...

Retro Rubber Challenge No. 76 - Merry & Bright with Gina K Designs and Memory Box

Image
Happy Cyber Monday everyone!!  I hope everyone had a great weekend and got some great deals.  I was a very good boy and only bought some stamps from a really cool company in the Ukraine.  Now I get to wait... Today I have a card I made for Challenge 76 on the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog , which is an "Anything Goes" challenge.   I decided to make a Christmas card using a stamp set called "Merry and Bright" that I bought from Gina K Designs ....YEARS ago....and had yet to use! Unfortunately it is no longer being made but you can find so many other beautiful designs on her site!   I started by adhering a piece of red cardstock to my top folding card base. I also cut a piece of white cardstock using the Stitched Rectangle die from the Stitched Shapes set (Simon Says Stamp).  I then placed the Starlit Breeze die (Memory Box) across the cardstock and cut that die.  Keep the stars that fall out for other projects. ...
