Masculine/Colorful Note Cards | KCS Designs by Kim | Altenew 3D Embossing Folders

Image
Hello everyone.  I've been making some really simple notecards lately using digital papers.  Today I made some masculine/colorful notecards, and I wanted to share them with you.  It's super simple and requires no stamps unless you want to use some for the sentiments.   First, I printed several papers from the Gelli Plate Printing Papers  digital kit from KCS Designs by Kim on Etsy.   I printed 4 of the same image to each sheet of white cardstock, trimmed them, and die-cut them using a stitched circle die. Using the same stitched circle die, I die-cut 3 pieces of white fun foam, and adhered them to the back of each of the circle images. I made 3 top-folding A2 cards using white cardstock. I cut 3 pieces of white cardstock, 4.25" x 5.5", and embossed each of them using a different 3D embossing folder from Altenew - Deck Planks 3D , Cross Weaves 3D , and Illusion Triangles 3D (no longer available) - and I adhered one to each of the 3 card fr...

Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas | March 2025 Edition | Altenew Stencil 4 Ways

Image
Hello everyone, and welcome to the March 2025 Edition of the Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas with  Deb  and  Lisa .  If you are new here, on the 25th of each month, we post one or more holiday cards.  This way, come November, we don't have to stress over making cards to send to people.  We hope to inspire you, and we hope you will join us.           This month, I made 2 cards and 2 tags using the Festive Greenery Builder Stencil Set from Altenew , some ink pads from Gina K Designs , and holiday sentiments.  Easy peasy.  This Festive Greenery Builder Stencil Set is so easy to use.  It has 3 layers, each clearly numbered.  Since I don't have any ink pads from Altenew, I used 3 colors from Gina K Designs: Red Velvet for the first layer, the berries; Lucky Clover for the 2nd layer, the leaves; and Christmas Pine for the 3rd layer, the stems.       To make each of the sten...

Yes, It's A Holiday - Send A Card To A Friend Day

Image
Hello everyone and welcome to a new "Yes, It's A Holiday" collaboration with my friends Debra ( @djdavison814 ) and Lori ( @mamakobs ).  Today we are celebrating National Send A Card To A Friend Day .  I love getting a handmade card in the mail.  Knowing that a person took the time to sit down and make this card to send to me says a lot about that person.  I'm a bad person.  I make cards every week!  Do I ever send any?  No.  Well, today, that changes.  I have a few cards to send today and I cannot wait for the recipients to get them!  According to National Today, the earliest cards are from the 15th century when Europeans adopted the idea of sending paper greeting cards.  Mass production started in the 1860s and Hallmark was founded in 1910, which is the largest and oldest manufacturer of cards in America.   To make today's card... I started with a sheet of decorative paper that had vintage postcards all over ...

Paper Crafters Unite Against Racism IG Hop

Image
Today I am one of the makers in the first Paper Crafters Unite Against Racism Instagram Hop of 2023 -  #papercraftersuniteagainstracism.  The hop continues tomorrow with new makers. The goal of this hop is to raise awareness about: - anti-racism; - BLM (Black Lives Matter); - to stand with and demonstrate solidarity with, sadly, so many causes...Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (APPI), the Jewish and Palestinian people, and other oppressed minorities. Basically, be kind and respect others.  Even if you do not agree with them or their views.  They might not agree with yours either.     For my notecards today, I went simple.  I used the Wave Form Cover Die from Altenew to cut 6 different colors from the Harvest Gathering Matstack from DCWV.  I wanted these colors to represent different skin tones in humanity.  Then I used one of each color to form the different card fronts....

3D Embossed Star of David / Hanukkah Card

Image
Hello everyone and Happy Hanukkah to those that celebrate it.  Or to those that have Jewish friends or family and are taking part in the festivities.  I know it's kinda late to be making this card but I had to get it out of my head.  And, you can always make it for next year.  But, there are also 7 more days to the holiday too.  This is such a quick and easy card to make with only a few things needed.  The embossing folder, silver, and white cardstock, and the die.  I am using the Illusion Triangles 3D embossing folder from Altenew to make this card.  The first time I saw the folder the first thing I noticed was a Star of David in the design.  Now, I don't know if it was made this way on purpose but that's how the idea for this card came about. I started by making a top-folding A2 card from white cardstock to which I adhered a piece of Silver Mirri Cardstock ( Anthony's Paper Craft ). Then I cut another piece of white cardstock usin...

SIP Flower Challenge #93 With The Ton and Altenew

Image
Hello everyone and Happy Sunday!!  I cannot believe that we are into the Fall season here and it's been about 90 degrees every day.  And humid!  I am looking forward to some cooler weather soon.  This week seems to be all about flowers. Although we try with our limited free time available our "garden" had become one big mess and was looking more like a forest.  So we called our friend Marcia who owns a nursery to help.  She ripped 90% of it out and we are restarting.  I am loving how this is a new and cleaned up area.  Let's see what happens down the road.  LOL My favorite area.  Marcia wanted to toss this tree stump but I wanted to keep it and I cannot wait to get some flowers into these pots. Continuing with the flower theme this week is the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #93, which is all about flowers - I recently got may hands on the Lone Poppy stamp from  The Ton and decided to use it for this challeng...
