Card No. 1 - November 2020 Crafty Elves Countdown To Christmas - Tourist Snow {People}

Image
Hello everyone.  This is a more detailed step by step on how to make Card No. 1 from the November 2020 Edition of the Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas . This adorable city scene with a Big Red Bus filled with tourist snow {people} is not a clean and simple card but worth it for someone special in your life.    Links to the other 3 cards as well as links to the other Crafty Elves' cards are at the bottom of this post. As I mentioned in my main post, the idea for this card has been floating around in my head for almost 2 years and it felt great to get it out.  And I love how it came out.    I started by making a 4.25" x 8.75" top folding slimline card from white cardstock.  Along the bottom of the front of the card, I adhered a strip of THIS dotted-line washi tape to act as the road along which the bus is driving. I die cut the Memory Box Cityscape Die 4 times. Twice from black cardstock and twice from a grayish/cement cardstock.  There are so...

If You Give A Crafter A Cookie Challenge No. 131 - Christmas Snow-globe

Image
Hello everyone!!  It's been forever since I posted anything here but I have a good reason.  I went home to NY - originally to spend time with my Dad for his 83rd birthday.  But, after purchasing my ticket, Dad fell and fractured his hip.  So my trip home did not go as planned and I ended up spending a lot of time with him in rehab and then with him when he was sent home.  I got to spend more time with Dad than I expected but my crafting time was limited to practically none.   Dad is home now and doing much better.  As long as he does his exercises and listens to his physical therapists, I am hopeful that he will be back to dancing soon!   I am back in Brasil now and decided to jump back into the cardmaking arena with the newest challenge from the  If You Give A Crafter A Cookie Challenge Blog .  We are up to Challenge No. 131 which is all about Christmas.  Here is the photo the design team had to use for inspi...

Feel The Love.....The Caffinated Love

Image
Hello everyone...it's the crazy American....living in the countryside of São Paulo and I am back with a new Guest Designer card for Coffee Loving Cardmakers .  For this week's card, I am celebrating "caffeinated love" with a stamp set from Unity Stamp .     I started by adhering a piece of red cardstock to my card front.  Then I cut a piece of white cardstock with the Hugs & Kisses Cover-Up die ( My Favorite Things /retired), which I then adhered to the red cardstock.  Now, I know this is retired but a piece of designer paper with some X's and O's would work perfectly as well.  I used  Jet Black Amalgam Ink ( Gina K. Designs ) to stamp two of the coffee cup image and each of the sentiments from the Love to Go stamp set ( Unity Stamp ).        I colored and fussy cut the cups, trimmed each of the sentiments and layered them on a piece of black cardstock.  Then I adhered the cups to th...

Today is....National Coffee Day.....with Graciellie Design and Unity Stamp

Image
Hello everyone!!  Yes, it's true.  Today is National Coffee Day.  Not that I need any special day to celebrate coffee since I drink it daily...several times a day, in fact.  But, since today is an extra special coffee day, I made a card....coffee themed. And I am drinking some of the best coffee in Brasil by Melita!  YUM!  I started with a digi stamp called Stay Strong that I recently purchased from Gracielle Designs on Etsy .  If you do not like digi stamps, you can also buy this set as a rubber stamp { HERE } at Unity Stamps.  I printed a full A4 sheet (cuz I will use these).  Then I had my Scan N Cut cut some of the cups out.    Next, I printed out one of the sentiments and die cut it with my stitched rectangle die.    I also stamped the flower image from Blossomy Condolences (Unity Stamp) and had my Scan N Cut cut it out. I colored in the cup and the flowers with a variety of BIC Mark...

To Grandma's House We Go - With Unity Stamps and WPlus9

Image
Hello everyone!  I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving - if you celebrated the holiday.  No "official" holiday here so we took off to the paper store so that I can stock up on cardstock and then to the mall to hit a new Japanese store that just opened, my favorite bookstore here, and then to Starbucks for more holiday cups.  Today it is all about cleaning the house because we will have our Thanksgiving tomorrow with friends.  So...what Black Friday bargains are you guys scooping up? Today's card is for a card swap I am part of.  I had to make a card that had an image of a car with a tree on it.  This idea was festering in my head but it came together pretty nicely!  Plan on making a few more of these this week.       To start off I (i) made a top folding A2 white cardstock base, (ii) cut a piece of light blue cardstock with the stitched rectangle die from the Stitched Shapes set (Simon Says Stamp) , (iii) cut th...

CAS On Sunday - Glitter or Sequin Challenge With Unity Stamps

Image
Hello everyone!  Just wanted to pop in with a quick card I made yesterday for a few blog challenges.  First is the CAS On Sunday Challenge Blog .  I was so happy to be one of their top picks last week for Challenge #106  and had to play along again for this week's Challenge #107 , which is is to use glitter or sequins on a card.   I'm also adding it to this week's challenge over on the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge Blog , which is Challenge #97 - Mother's Day . And this week's challenge on the Cards In Envy Challenge Blog , which is a Motherly Love Card Challenge . Now...my first thought when I saw the words glitter and sequins was to make a shaker card.  But I figured that would everyone's first thought and I decided to go in a different direction.  I decided to use glitter as an element in the image. I started by making a top folding A2 card base out of white cardstock to which I adhered a piece of decorative cardstock. I cut ano...

Less Is More Stripe Challenge With Unity Stamps

Image
Hello everyone.  I hope y'all had a great weekend!!  I had fun making two Card In A Box cards for a class I might be giving here.  The first one (on the left) I made using glittered fun foam, which came out great but the glue took too long to dry.  The other one (on the right) I made using Floral and Flutter stamps by Concord & 9th and cardstock.  Much easier to make and love how this one came out.  I'd love to know which one you like better. I made today's card for the Less Is More Challenge Blog .  This week's challenge #325 is to use a stripe on the card.  As soon as I saw the word "stripe", stars and stripes popped into my head, and I knew the perfect image to use - " stars and stripes FOREVER " by Unity Stamp Co .   I started with a top folding A2 card base of white cardstock.  Then, using the long stitched rectangle die from Die-namics Blueprints 1 , I cut a piece of red, white, and blue cardstock.  I adhered...

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge No. 95 - Sketch With Unity Stamps

Image
Hello all!  It's Thursday already.  The week is almost over and I cannot wait for this weekend.  There is a food truck festival in my town and a Churro Festival in the next town over!!  Yay!!  So, in my post this past  Monday I made mention that I had screwed up on some of my stamping.  One of the phrases I stamped was crooked and the other phrase, because I stamped twice, looked out of focus. So I slapped these suckers on my Scan N Cut and it cut out the images - which is perfect to use for this week's Stamp Ink Paper Challenge , which is SIP Challenge No. 95 - A Sketch -   I started by (a) making a top folding A2 card base of white cardstock, (b) cutting a piece of designer paper using the large stitched rectangle from the Bundle of Stitched Shapes (Simon Says Stamp), (c) cutting another piece of designer paper using one of the dies from Stitched Rectangles (Retired, MFT Stamps), (d) stamping and cutting the words "...
