Hey everyone.  One of the first stencils I bought from StencilGirl was the Weaving Stencil by Andrew Borloz.  I loved it because all I really saw were candles.  And candles can always be used on cards.  This is a project I have had in my head for some time and I finally found some time this week to get them done.   As you can see from the photo below, I made two birthday cards mixing a die cut from Memory Box with Andrew's Weaving Stencil from StencilGirl.  The tutorial is for the card on the left and the card on the right is a more feminine option with different colors and the candles done differently too.   Supplies Used:   Weaving Stencil designed by Andrew Borloz  for StencilGirl Products Memory Box - Happy Birthday Die No. 98838 Die Cut Machine i.e. Big Kick, Big Shot, or Cuttlebug White cardstock for base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" folded in half White cardstock 5 1/4" x 4" Green cardstock 5 1/2" x 4 1/4...

Okay, I admit, the title of this blog post is a bit misleading.  I didn't really StenDoodle an Oreo cookie.  Just the name.  You see, I have a problem.  A BIG problem.  I LOVE Oreo cookies.  Original Oreos are fine but Double Stuffs?  YUM!!!  And Double Stuffs are not available here in Brasil - yet.  Of course, I have friends that like to tease me by putting almost anything Oreo related up on my Facebook page.  (Barbara Brisken and Wayne Gartley - you know who I am talking about. LOL) This morning, Wayne Gartley, owner of Viva Las Vegas Rubber Stamps (an AMAZING store in Las Vegas, by the way) put this picture on my Facebook page -  My mind started to turn.  I let him know that if this logo printed out well, I was going to Stendoodle it.  Well, it printed out just fine.  And then I got to work...a few StencilGirl Stencils....some Tombow and Sharpie markers...a black permanent marker....FUN!! ...

Hello everyone.  I'm back again with another Valentine's Day card but this time I am showing how to StenDoodle with a rubber stamp, and, of course, a bunch of stencils from StencilGirl!!! For this project I am using the Big Hearts Background Stamp by Stamp Camp.  This is a great stamp to use because of the large areas inside the hearts, which you will fill with parts of other stencils to give a totally different look.  And, the stamp is on until February 14th on their site!!!  This is also a great stamp for an Anniversary Card or just an I Love You card too.  (Disclaimer - I am not earning anything from using this stamp, nor was I given this stamp by Stamp Camp.  I do know the owner and I have a large collection of her stamps.  Disclaimer finished.) The first few StenDoodle projects that I made were done on a full sheet of watercolor paper.  I loved how this large piece, filled with colors and textures, just popped.  And I loved having a piece of "ART" for my wall.  Well, one day someone commented that the piece I made would be a great note card, which, of course, got my mind going..... So, today, I am here to show you how to have the best of both worlds.  A piece of "ART" to be framed or hung on the wall or placed on a shelf, together with a set of cards using the same design.   This project uses Pam Carriker's Heart stencil.  When I saw this stencil at The Ink Pad, I knew I had to have it.  It is the perfect stencil to use with the StenDoodle technique due to the large area inside the heart in which to work.  And, when her Wing stencil gets out of customs, it will go perfect with this stencil too. Good morning everyone!!  It's very early here in Brasil but I wanted to make an exciting announcement..... StencilGirl Products has asked me to become part of their Creative Team!!  And, of course, I said YES!!   Yesterday was my first Guest Artist spot on their blog and I was really hoping that it would generate some buzz and get nice comments - just so that they would ask me to come back again.  To be asked to join the Creative Team was totally unexpected and a huge surprise for me!  I am working out the details with them but, since I am on another continent, in a different time zone, and have responsibilities with our store, it looks like I might do a once a month project with my StenDoodle technique.  How does "StenDoodling With Michael" sound?  LOL. Hello everyone!!  Today is a sort of continuation of my Guest Artist spot, on StencilGirl's Blog yesterday.  If you have not seen the post, check out HERE .  Today, is not a long tutorial, just a short one, to show another way to use the stencil in yesterday's post.   Below is another card I made using the same stencil as yesterday, Terri Stegmiller's Heart Flower 6 stencil.  As you can see, I left out the flower part of the stencil and, using different colors, made it a bit more of a masculine card.   I also love how this card came out - with the fish looking as if they are in a tank, with pipes going down into the heart with water.  Although it was not intentional, I think it turned out fun looking!!  And I love the little fish!!    Stencils Used In This Project : Heart Flower 6 Geomaze Stencil  Aiden's School Stencil (fish) Eddy Rose 6   Squared On 6 (the pipes)   Diamonds Small 6   ...
