He Made It / She Made It Collab | Valentine's Day Cards | KCS Designs by Kim DT Projects

Image
Hello everyone!  Debra and I were talking the other day, and we realized it's been forever since we did one of our  "He Made It / She Made It" collaborations.    For today's collab, we both made Valentine's Day cards using printables from KCS Designs by Kim , as we are both on Kim's Design Team.  The requirements are that we each have to make a card using any of Kim's printables, but we both have to incorporate the Word Snippets: Valentine's Day Collection  on our cards.   Both of my cards use  Whimsical Hearts IV  and  Word Snippets - Valentine's Day .  I love the colors and designs in this heart set.  But, there are 3 sets of Whimsical Hearts for you to pick from - Whimsical Hearts 1 ,  Whimsical Hearts 2 , or  Whimsical Hearts 3 .   If you like anything I used, KCS Designs by Kim is having a Hump Day sale in her Etsy store, and everything is 40% off! Card Idea No. 1 This card has a ...

Making Four Valentine's Day Cards Using A "Littles Printables" Coloring Page

Image
Do you need or want to make some Valentine's Day cards but are short on time?  Or don't have the stamps or dies?  Maybe you want to include your son, daughter, or grandchild in the cardmaking process?  Or, maybe, you just want to do something different?  Why not try a coloring page?    I made 4 Valentine's Day cards using the I Spy Valentines Coloring Page from  Littles Printables , one of my new favorite stores on Etsy.  On the day I post this blog, this is on sale for $1.12.  How can you beat that?  When I saw this page I immediately saw a slimline card using the bottom of the page and at least 3 more cards using the top portion.   **Note:  I am not affiliated with Little Printables.   The hardest part of this process is coloring the page.  So, warning, if you do not love to color or do not have the patience to color, this post is not for you.  LOL. But, if you love to color as much as I do, k...

Jars of Love Cards For Valentine's Day

Image
Hello everyone. The other day while cleaning I found some wood jars I bought but never used.  I don't even know who made them.  And, my friend Debra also sent me a package of wood jars in a box she sent me - thanks, Debra!  So I thought...why not make some Valentine's Day cards with them.        On the left are the jars from my stash.  On the right are the jars I got from Debra. I decided to make two cards using a jar from each package and with the same Bouquet die from Impression Obsession .  This die has a lot of pieces to it but it's so easy to work with.  The first thing I did was to make a top folding A2 card base of white cardstock to which I adhered a piece of pink cardstock. Then I used my Stitched Rectangle die to cut another piece of white cardstock, which I adhered to a piece of fun foam, which I then adhered to the card front. I did this twice.  I made one pink base and one kraft card base. ...

A Not So Ordinary Valentine's Day Card

Image
Hello everyone!  January is almost over and I needed to make a Valentine's Day card for a card swap group that I am in.  I did not want to make a typical red or pink card and wanted to go with purple.   I started by going thru my paper stash.  I found a REALLY OLD (circa 2011) paper pad called "what's up" from Basic Grey with some flowered designs in purple and dark orange that I thought I could use. I made a top-folding card base of purple cardstock. Then, using my stitched rectangle die, I cut a piece of white cardstock, which I adhered on the inside and a piece of orange cardstock for the card front.  I placed the Inlay Heart Die (Poppy Stamps) on the orange cardstock, die cut it, and then adhered the orange piece to the purple card front.  Next, using the same Inlay Heart die , I cut a piece of the decorative paper.   Then I carefully glued the pieces into the card front leaving the heart areas the color ...
