  Hello everyone.  I hope y'all are doing well.  I get asked all the time to explain certain English expressions and a few weeks ago the expression "tying the knot" came up in a conversation.  I explained what it meant and I also remembered that I have two stamps from Technique Junkies - Ropes and Love Knots - that would work perfectly with this expression.  Hence these cards. If you want to recreate these cards: To start... I made 2 top-folding card bases using black cardstock - one vertical and one horizontal. I die-cut 2 pieces of black cardstock using a 4.25" x 5.5" stitched rectangle die.  I love the stitched borders but, if you don't have this die, you can skip this part and use the front of your card base as your main base. I die-cut 2 pieces of gray cardstock using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die.  If you do not own these dies, just cut 2 pieces of gray cardstock to 4" x 5.25". OMG!  Today I was looking through some "draft" posts for my blog and realized that I never posted this wedding album and storage box that I made.  I'm nuts!! I made this album and storage box more than two years ago for a couple in town.  I'm calling it the "Wedding Album On Steroids" because of the number of hours spent on it and the size of the album.  It's the largest album I ever made and, I also think, it's the best I ever made.  It's also the first time I made a matching storage box from a raw MDF box for the album to be stored in.  I'm really proud of it and hope you guys love it as much as I do.   I LOVED making this album and have already started a new one for the next couple that wants to tie the knot.    Below is a link to a video I made showing and explaining everything I used and did in the book. Hello everyone!  Most of you know that my first love is to make cards.  But coming in a close second -  I also love love love to make handmade mini albums and photo folios.  There is something about building an album or folio from scratch.  I call myself a paper architect.   Today I wanted to share a wedding folio that I made for Ruy's sister who got married a few months ago.  It was a very simple wedding and she is a very simple person who did not want a full-blown album with flowers, and ephemera, etc.  So I made this simple tri-fold folio. The front of the wedding folio. The inside when you open the front of the folio. Hello everyone.  Hope everyone has fun plans for the weekend.  We have a class next weekend in the store so I will be sticking around here getting things ready and cleaning up.  Today's card is for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge No. 225 .  I've had this image sitting around begging to be used and today was it's day!    Here is the sketch that was the inspiration for this card -  I started with a 5" x 7" white cardstock base, side folding.  Because this card is meant to be included with a wedding gift, or check, I went with a larger card size.  To the front I adhered a piece of metallic silver cardstock.  Then I checked through my stash of papers and found this beautiful paper called Diamond from SEI's White Elegance Collection and I cut a piece 3" x 6.5".  I adhered this to a piece of black cardstock, giving only a slight border, and adhered this to the card front on the right side.    Then I grabbed ...

Well, I am not normally one to enter a card on a sketch blog but when I saw this sketch on Freshly Made Sketches , this card popped into my head and it was a no brainer.  This was also the fastest and cleanest card I have made.  Talk about "clean and simple". Start with a card base of black cardstock.  Then cut two pieces of white cardstock at 4" x 5.25".   On one piece of the white cardstock stamp the "So You're" phrase with Memento Black Ink;  adhere the Gray Satin Ribbon under the phrase; adhere the 1/8" Silver ribbon on top of the Gray ribbon; then stamp the "tying the knot" phrase.  Adhere this piece to the back card base front.  On the other piece of white cardstock, stamp the "Congratulations" and adhere this piece to the inside of the card.  Then adhere some Sparkling Clear sequins on the front and you are done!!   Supplies Used : Congratulations Stamp Set by Simon Says Stamp (SSS101530) Basic Gray ...
