Sending Sunshine / Sunflower Slimline Card

Image
Hello...Hello...hello everyone!  There is a new card challenge blog on the block called The Four Seasons Challenge Blog that my friend Debra told me about. They will be having monthly challenges and the themes will always be an "anything goes theme" based on the season that that month is in.  I love this idea.   Their first challenge is up and running and it's an Anything Goes Fall theme and will run thru September 25th with winners being announced on the 28th.  Here is the mood board for September. I decided to make a sunflower slimline card. Sunflowers are my favorite flower and nothing makes me happier than finding a sunflower field to walk thru, which we have many of here in June and July, our Autumn.   For inspiration, I used this photo of me and one of our dogs, Bella, in a field we found just 2 months ago.  I love the blue sky behind the sunflowers. I used a stamp/die combo called Sunflowers from Divinity Designs.  I stampe...

Card No. 2 - November 2020 Crafty Elves Countdown To Christmas - Christmas Lights Card

Hello everyone.  This is a more detailed step by step on how to make Card No. 2 from the November 2020 Edition of the Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas .   Links to the other 3 cards as well as the links to the other Crafty Elves' blog posts are at the bottom of this post.  I used this stamp back in January 2020, which you can see HERE .  But when slimline cards started to get hot this year, I wanted to do another card, vertically, using this same stamp.   I started by making a top folding slimline card, 4" x 9", to which I adhered a piece of decorative Christmas paper to the front.  I also cut a piece of white cardstock, 4" x 8.5", and then die cut it using one of the dies from the Edgers Confetti Cuts by Reverse Confetti . I also cut a piece of white fun foam to go under the white cardstock and used the same die on the bottom.  Using a stamp positioner, I stamped the string of lights from the Light Up The Holidays set from Your Next St...

I Love You!

Hello everyone!  I hope everyone is having a good February so far.  This Friday is Valentine's Day and, even though it's not really celebrated here in Brasil, I wanted to make another card and I had to use  Word Critters Spring Birds and Cool Tag Banner Sentiments , both by Your Next Stamp , because they are sitting on my desk mocking me!!  LOL  I honestly think this is probably the simplest card I have ever made!   I cut a piece of white cardstock using a stitched rectangle die, which I put in my stamping platform.  I then arranged the branch and the bird couple (from the Word Critters Spring Birds set) and the sentiment "I Love You" from the Cool Tag Banner set, and I stamped them using Jet Black Amalgam Ink from Gina K. Designs. I made a top-folding A2 card base of white cardstock to which I adhered a piece of red cardstock.  Then I colored the card using Ultra Fine Tip BIC Markers - Yellow Blaze and Sunset Orange ...

Crafty Elves Countdown to the Holidays - January 2020

Image
Hello everyone.  My friend Debra ( Meticulosity ), and her friend Lisa ( Life of a BZscrapper ), came up with an idea at the begging of last year.  They decided to make 4 Christmas cards per month and 1 blog post per month showing the world what they made.   They call themselves the "Crafty Elves".  A few weeks ago Debra asked me if I would also like to be a Crafty Elf.  I said YES!  Who doesn't want to be a Crafty Elf?  And Lisa asked her friend Jessica ( Polka Dot Orchard ) to be an Elf.   Now there are 4 Crafty Elves! And, since I say, e very year, that I will make a card a week so that by the end of the year I have a stash of handmade cards to send, and that NEVER happens, this will be a good thing because now I am forced to make the cards and do a blog post.  And, I will have a mixture of Christmas, Hanukkah, and generic holiday cards.   Here are the cards I made for January 2020.    Car...

If You Give A Crafter A Cookie Challenge 94 With Cats and Dogs!!

Image
Happy Memorial Day everyone!!  At least to those in the USA.  My dad was in the Navy when he was a youngster and I think it is very important to remember all those that fought, died, and are still fighting for freedom - not only for the USA but for other countries around the globe.   So...THANK YOU!!!   I made today's card for the If You Give A Crafter A Cookie Challenge Blog .  Their current challenge, No. 94 , is all about cats and dogs.  Here is the inspiration for this challenge -  I decided to use a new stamp set from Your Next Stamp called Photo Booth  along with its matching die called Photo Booth Polaroid .  I cut the die 3 times using textured white cardstock, stamped one of the phrases on each of them, then I stamped 3 of the cat/dog images on plain white cardstock with black ink, placed the die over each of the images and cut them out.  (I ended up only using 2 for the card). Then I colore...

Happy Friday everyone!  I'm excited because today starts the week-long " Spring + Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop " over at Coffee Loving Cardmakers .  Being a coffee loving papercrafter I have a bunch of coffee stamps and papers and I hope to get a card made each day for the week.  There are a lot of prizes to be won so I hope you will join me and check it out. For the first day, I am doing a sort of mini blog hop between myself and my friend Mike of Dezines By EM .  Mike lives in California and is not only part of the Anthony Paper Craft's Design Team but he also makes some awesome SVG files.  And we both decided to do a project using the new Coffee 1 stamp by Anthony's Paper Craft.   He made a gift card holder and the link is all the way at the end of this post!   I made two cards - both using the same idea but with different images.  I started with a piece of A2 Kraft cardstock for the bases.  I then adhered a ...
