Welcome to a new Woodblock Wednesday, the day of the week that we use a woodblock stamp (or more) to make a card or other project.  The other day, while going through my stash, I found the Say Cheese rubber stamp from House Mouse.  The image is of Maxwell, the mouse, taking a photo while holding a piece of cheese in the air.  As soon as I saw it, I knew it would pair perfectly with the "Say Cheese" digital paper from Angie Blom Digital Designs.     Links to everything I used are at the end of this post.  Below is a step-by-step for the card I made, and I swear, you can make this in less than 15 minutes.  I made a top-folding A2 card using black cardstock.   Hello everyone, and welcome to another Woodblock Wednesday -  the day of the week we set aside to give some love to woodblock stamps that we have not used in some time.     I am joining my friend Amy, who posts a Woodblock Wednesday card to her  blog  on the last Wednesday of each month.  Check out her blog post... HERE ...to see her card and the giveaway she has if you enter a card of your own.  This will be a short post to share a card that I have been wanting to make for years.  Today's card uses 2 woodblock stamps from Hambo Stamps, which sadly closed in 2014.  Neither stamp has a name but one is a pig in a hammock, and the other is the sentiment "Happy "Pork" of July" - both circa 2009.   Now, between you and me, I am not happy with the card because I used a piece of blue cardstock as my base and the markers I used came out much darker than I wanted.  I will be making this card again soon using white cardstock ...

Hello everyone and welcome to a new Woodblock Wednesday card idea. Wednesday is the unofficial day of the week to give your woodblock stamps some love.  Today I am using a woodblock stamp called Winter Trees (K5814) from Hero Arts .  Hero Arts has had many stamps over the years called Winter Trees but this one is circa 2014 and, believe it or not, I found one,  HERE , for sale.  I am pairing the stamp with a die called Deer Trio from Memory Box, circa  2013, and some digital sentiments I bought on Etsy. Here's how I did it. I cut a piece of white cardstock, 3.25" x 8.25", and, using a stamp positioner and Onyx Black Versafine Ink, I stamped Winter Trees by Hero Arts several times until the front was fully covered.  Then I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.   I made a top-folding slimline card base using white cardstock - 3 5/8" x 8 5/8".   I die-cut a piece of red cardstock using a stitched slimline die, which I then adhe...

  Hello everyone and welcome to my first Woodblock Wednesday post of 2025.  This is the day of the week in which we try to set aside some time during the day to use some woodblock stamps that may not have been used in some time or, maybe, have never been used.   For today's card, I pulled 2 VERY old woodblock stamps out of my stash: a snowy branch with a world ornament hanging off it - from Viva Las Vegas Stamps .  I searched high and low on their site for the stamp but could not find it.  I assume it's been retired.   The other stamp is called Peace Bird (1697-H) from Rubber Soul  - from 2008 and also long retired.  I remember buying both of these stamps from The Ink Pad in NYC (closed) just to make today's card.  It only took me 17 years.   I started by stamping the snowy branch with the ornament on a piece of white cardstock using Onyx Black Versafine Ink and Mermaid Lagoon from Ranger.  White the inks were still w...

Hi everyone and welcome to a new Woodblock Wednesday.  When I woke up this morning I saw Amy's new Woodblock Wednesday blog post and decided to make a quick fun card.  She has 2 giveaways this month and you can check it all out on her blog by clicking HERE .  I have not joined her on her Woodblock Wednesdays because I have been so busy with classes and making folios but I made time today to have a little fun!   Hello all and welcome to a new "Woodblock Wednesday" - the perfect day of the week to make a card using woodblock stamps that have not been used in some time - or at all.   This week I am using two woodblock stamps I found the other day while "organizing".  A background stamp - Envelope Pattern ( Hero Arts ) and Holly Collage ( Memory Box ).  Both are long retired but, if you wish to recreate this card, I hope you have something in your own stash you can use.   My goal is to hopefully inspire you to make something from what I made.   Let's get started...
