Woodblock Wednesday | Valentine's Day Card | Woodblock Stamps | Using My Stash

Hello everyone and welcome to another Woodblock Wednesday -  the day of the week we set aside to give some love to woodblock stamps that we have not used in some time.    I am joining my friend Amy for her January Edition of Woodblock Wednesday.  She even has a giveaway this month.  You can check out all the details on her blog by clicking HERE

To make this card I used 2 woodblock stamps from my stash -
  • a fairy with a basket of hearts from Great Impressions Rubber Stamps.  Out of biz for some time now.  There is no name on the stamp but there is a number - H208.  Tried to find it online but had no luck.
  • My sentiment is called "I Can't Wait" 1702-G from Rubber Soul.  They still have a website but I have a feeling they are not in biz.

This is how I made the card if you want to make one like it.

  • I made a top-folding 5" square card using white cardstock.
  • I cut another piece of 5" x 5" white cardstock, embossed it with an embossing folder from my stash that I bought a few years ago here in Brasil, and adhered it to the card front.  I liked the small flowers in the folder and thought it went nicely with the theme.
  • I stamped the fairy with the basket of hearts and flowers on a piece of white cardstock, colored it using some fine tip markers, die-cut it using a stitched square die, and adhered a piece of fun foam to the back.
  • I used the next size up stitched square die to cut a piece of decorative paper, adhered a piece of fun foam to the back, and then to the card front.
  • I needed a sentiment for the front and I found 2 on a set of journaling stickets from Teresa Collins that I had in my stash.  Layered them on some pink banner dies, and then to the card front.

  • For the inside, I stamped I Can't Wait, a wood-mounted stamp from Rubber Soul circa 2007, on a piece of white cardstock, die-cut it, layered it on a piece of the pink cardstock, and then to the inside of the card.
Here's the finished card - front and inside.

Now it's your turn.  Go grab some of your woodblock stamps and make a card.  Remember to link it on Amy's post for a chance to win the giveaway.  Until next time...

Hugs from Brasil.

Michael
