Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas with Deb and Lisa - January 2025 Edition

Image
Hello everyone and welcome to the first Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas of 2025.  I have decided to rejoin my Elf friends Debra  and  Lisa  this year (they gave me a raise and the corner office).  If you are new here, on the 25th of each month, we each post one or more holiday cards so that at the end of the year, we have a bunch ready to send out to people.  And we hope you will join us.          This month's card uses a few Christmas digi sentiments and paper.  No stamping required.   I made a top-folding A2 card and adhered a 1.5" strip of Christmas striped paper to the right side.     Then I cut a piece of red cardstock, 3.5" x 5.5", adhered a piece of fun foam to the back, and then I adhered it to the card front.   I cut a piece of white cardstock, 3 3/8" x 5.5", embossed it with the " Christmas Wishes" embossing folder from Crafter's Companion , and adhered it on the red cardsto...

Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas - October 2023 - Christmas Ornaments Slimline Card

Image
Welcome to the October 2023 Edition of The Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas.  If this is your first time here, on the 25th of each month, I collaborate with some other Crafty Elves - Debra of Meticulosity and Lisa of Life of a BZ Scrapper - to bring you some holiday card-making inspiration.   If you would like to be a Guest Elf for one month, just let me know in the comments.     This month I made a slimline card using the Ribboned Ornaments stamp from Technique Junkies .  This was just released on October 1st and as soon as I got it, I knew I would have to turn this into a slimline card.     The first thing I did was to stamp Ribboned Ornaments with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a piece of white cardstock.   Using a stamp positioner, I stamped the image again so that it looked like one long string of ornaments.  Using a stamp positioner rather than a Misti or other stamping platform, allows me to line up the image per...

Hello everyone and welcome to the August 2023 Edition of The Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas.  If this is your first time here, on the 25th of each month, I am part of a collaboration with some other Crafty Elves  - Debra of Meticulosity , Lisa of Life of a BZScrapper , and Misty of The Jolly Fat Elf.  Misty is taking this month off but we have a Special Crafty Elf joining us, Shalana Glass of Scrappin With Shalana . Links to the other Elves' cards and to our social media pages are at the end of this post.    This month I went retro, using the  Retro Ornaments  stamp for my main image and  Retro Merry Christmas  for my sentiment - both from Technique Junkies .   I made a top-folding A2 card using red cardstock. Then I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die and adhered it to the inside of the card for a message. I stamped Retro Ornaments - twice - and my sentiment, Retro Merry Chri...

Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas - April 2023 Edition

Image
Hello everyone and welcome, once again, to a new Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas.  If this is your first time here, on the 25th of each month, the Crafty Elves [me, Debra of Meticulosity , Lisa of Life of a BZ Scrapper , and Misty of The Jolly Fat Elf ] each share at least 1-holiday card idea.  We believe that if you make your holiday cards all year round, you won't be scrambling or stressing come November.  Links to the other Crafty Elves' cards can be found at the end of this post.  Misty took this month off but she'll be back with us next month.  We hope.  I have had the Santa's Clothesline die from Cottage Cutz - in my stash for some time now and I finally decided to use it by making a Mini Slimline.  I've never made one before but I thought it would be the perfect size for the clothesline.  Although the die is retired, you can still find it online in some stores. I made my card base using red cardstock - 7" x 6" and scored in hal...

Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas - March 2023 Edition | Kwanzaa Cards

Image
Hello everyone and welcome to the March 2023 Edition of The Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas.  On the 25th of each month, the Crafty Elves - me, Debra , Lisa , and Misty - share some card ideas with the hopes of inspiring you to make holiday cards too.  Direct links to what the other Crafty Elves have made this month, as well as links to all of our social media pages, are at the end of this post.   This month I am focusing on Kwanzaa.    You would think that, since I make holiday cards each month, I would have made Kwanzaa card ideas earlier.  To be honest, it's not a holiday I grew up learning about and I had no stamps to use.  Being a Jew that also celebrates Christmas, Hanukkah and Christmas cards are a no-brainer.     But that all changed a few weeks ago when I was on AliExpress looking for bulk items to buy for my projects (flowers, sequins, beads, etc.)  On the sidebar, I saw an ad for adhesive stickers.  I've a...

Crafty Elves' Countdown To Christmas - February 2023 Edition

Image
Hello everyone and welcome to the February 2023 Edition of The Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas.  If you are new here, the Countdown happens on the 25th of each month when some Crafty Elves - me ( World of Michael Trent ), Debra ( Meticulosity ), Lisa ( BZScrapper ), and Misty ( The Jolly Fat Elf) - share some card ideas to help you during the year with your holiday cards.   Last month's post was, I have to say, an AMAZING CARD but also a really long blog post.  So, this month, I thought I would keep it short and simple.  I used two stamps from Technique Junkies - Vintage Botanical Holly as my main image and two different sentiments from the Gifts of Christmas set.   The only other thing you need is embossing powder and a Versamark or clear embossing ink pad. Card No. 1 I made a top-folding A2 card using red cardstock. I cut two pieces of white cardstock using a stitched rectangle die measuring 4" x 5.25".  One I adhered on the ins...

Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas - January 2023 Edition

Image
Hello everyone and welcome to the January 2023 edition of The Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas.  If this is not your first time here, thanks for stopping by again.  But, if this is your first time here, on the 25th of each month, the Crafty Elves - me (World of Michael Trent), Debra ( Meticulosity ), Lisa ( Life of a BZScrapper ), and Misty ( The Jolly Fat Elf ) - post ideas and creations to help spark or and inspire your Christmas and Holiday cardmaking.   And this year, 2023, we are kicking it off in style with our first Guest Crafty Elf - Chris Franco ( Stamped Blessings ) - who is a good friend of Debra's and she's a Close To My Heart Consultant (CTMH) consultant.  When I lived in the states I loved CTMH stamps and I moved here with a boatload of sets.  I still miss getting the new CTMH catalog, brewing a cuppa Joe, and slowly going thru it, folding down the corner of pages that had stamps I wanted to buy.  And, for today's post, I decid...
