Happy 250th Birthday USA | Slimline Card | KCS Designs by Kim DT Project

Image
Hey everyone.  Well, it's the July 4th weekend in America.  Sadly, I am not there to enjoy the fireworks and the heatwave.  This is one of my favorite holidays, and I miss being in NY for it.  To help celebrate, I made this slimline card to help celbrate the 250th birthday of the USA.   I used two images from the Painted Americana Clip Art set from KCS Designs by Kim on Etsy.  To help celebrate even more, KCS is having a 50% off sale through July 5th, 2026.  As you know, I am on the Design Team for KCS, and if you have loved any of my cards, this is a great time to stock up on digital papers, clipart, ephemera, folio kits...you name it.   To make this card: I die-cut a piece of red cardstock using a 3" x 7.5" stitched slimline die.  Then I die-cut the stars in the red cardstock using the Stars Background Slimline Die from Creative Expressions.   I cut a piece of glittered white fun foam and adhered it to the back o...

Week 2 | Coffee Loving Papercrafters Guest Designer | Coffee and Donuts

Image
Hello, everyone! It's Michael.  Again.  I am thrilled to be back for Week 2 as Guest Designer for the Coffee Loving Papercrafters Blog .  This week, I made a  slimline birthday card using the Coffee Donut Row   digital image from Stamplorations .   I've loved the digital images from Stamplorations for many years after seeing them used in one of the Coffee Lovers Blog Hops.  The owner, Shery, had to shut down the store in 2022 to deal with a cancer diagnosis, but a few weeks back, I saw a post letting everyone know that she had beaten the cancer and had reopened the store.  Awesome news on both fronts.     A full step-by-step with photos and links can be found HERE on the  Coffee Loving Papercrafters Blog .  And, if you love coffee-themed papercrafts, make sure to check out and follow the  Coffee Loving Papercrafters Facebook Page  and the  Coffee Loving Papercrafters Instagram Page ....

The Crafty Elves Countdown To Christmas - January 2026 Edition

Image
Hello everyone, and Happy New Year.  Welcome to the January 2026 Edition of the Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas with  Deb  and  Lisa  - otherwise known as The Crafty Elves . On the 25th of each month, we (the Crafty Elves) post one or more holiday cards in hopes that we inspire you to start  making your own.  This way, by November, we will have cards ready to mail or to give to people during the holidays.           I am kicking off 2026 with a slimline Christmas card full of triangle trees...I mean,  Repeatable Christmas Trees , a digital image from Line Art Lover on Etsy.  I fell in love with this image because the trees are all in one image, and there is no need to layer them in a graphics program.  Easy peasy! If you would like to re-create this card or make one like it, this is what I did: I made a top-folding slimline card using white cardstock, 3 5/8" x 8 5/8".  Then I adhered a piece ...

2025 Fall | Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop | Slimline Coffee Card | Coffee Home Decor

Image
Hello everyone.  Today, I would like to share another card I made for the  2025 Fall | Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop .   The hop runs through November 14th, there are 35 Super Sponsors, and lots of prizes to be won if you make a card of your own or even comment on the posts.   All the information about the hop, the Super Sponsors, the prizes, and how to enter a card can be found on the Coffee Loving Papercrafters socials listed below: Coffee Loving Papercrafters Blog Coffee Loving Papercrafters Facebook Page    I knew that I would use a stitched slimline rectangle die measuring 3 5/8" x 8 5/8" as my main layer, and a die measuring 3.25" x 8.25" for the top layer/image layer, and I had to make sure the image would fit inside.  After a few tries on printer paper, I settled at 86%, and printed the image twice, at 86%, on heavyweight white cardstock.  The dies I used were made by Pink Fresh Studio but have been discontinued.   ...

Meet the Before Coffee Crew | Slimline Card | KCS Designs by Kim | Graciellie Design

Image
Happy Monday, y'all!  Popping in today to share a quick coffee-themed slimline card I made last night.  When Kim released this new set, this idea popped into my head, and I had to run with it.   I made a top-folding slimline card by cutting a piece of Kraft cardstock, 7.25" x 8 5/8".  I placed the short side along the top of my scoreboard and scored at 3 5/8". I printed one of the papers from the  Coffee Lovers Digital Paper Pack  (one of my fav coffee papers) from  Graciellie Design , die-cut it using a stitched slimline die that measures 3 5/8" x 8 5/8", and adhered it to the card front.  Using Pages on my MAC, I imported 7 of the ladies from the brand-new  Before Coffee Crew Clip Art  from  KCS Designs by Kim  on Etsy.   I added my own sentiment in a text box under the images. I printed it on 180gr/65lb white cardstock, die-cut it using a stitched slimline die, adhered a piece of 1/8" black fun foam to ...

Woodblock Wednesday | Slimline Card | Penny Black and A Muse Artstamps

Image
Welcome to Woodblock Wednesday.  The day of the week to use woodblock stamps in your art.  On the last Wednesday of the month, my friend Amy celebrates her love of woodblock stamps with a post on her Woodblock Wednesday Instagram page. If you make a card of your own and link it to hers, you have a chance to win her giveaway.  Check out her IG post HERE . I recently discovered two woodblock stamps in my stash and decided to use them to create this slimline card.  One is called Winsome, from Penny Black, 3811J, and circa 2007.  The other is called Beautiful Day from A Muse Artstamps.  Circa, unknown.  And, if you live in England, you can find the Penny Black stamp HERE .     I made a slimline card base using white cardstock.  Then I die-cut a piece of paper from my stash using a 3 5/8" x 8 5/8" stitched slimline die and adhered it to the card front.  I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using a 3" x 8" stitched rectangle die, s...

Industrial HELLO Card | Masculine Card

Image
So, there I was, going through a box of stuff, when I pulled out a package of big letter stickers from Michael's, circa "God Only Knows".  I'm trying to clean out and use things I find in my stash, and I had to make something with these.  But what?  They are masculine,  industrial-looking letters.  Hmmm....  Got it!  A masculine, industrial-looking "Hello" card! You can make this in about 10 minutes if you have some alphabet stickers too.   First, my card base.  I made a 3.25" x 8.25" slimline card by cutting a piece of black cardstock, 6.5" x 8.25".  Then I scored at 3.25" on the short side, and burnished well.   I used a 3" x 8" stitched slimline rectangle die to die-cut one of the sheets in the Bauhause 8" x 8" Collection from Stamperia, which you can find at Frantic Stamper  (at the time this blog was posted).  I wanted a masculine background paper, and this one sheet was perfect with the different fonts...

Angie Blom Digital Designs | Bloom Grow Blossom | 3D Slimline Card

Image
Hello everyone.  I hope y'all are doing well and have recovered from the holiday.  Today I am sharing a slimline card I made using  Bloom Grow Blossom  from Angie Blom Digital Designs .   What's great about Angie's kits is, that you not only get the individual images, but you also get a sheet or two with the images already put together like a card.  All you need to do is print that page, color it, and send it.   To make this card: I made a top-folding slimline card using white cardstock - 3.5" x 8.5". I adhered a piece of decorative paper from my stash to the front of the card. I printed the slimline design that is part of the set, colored it using Tombow markers, layered it on a piece of black cardstock, then a piece of fun foam, and then to the card front.   The markers I used were 173/Willow Green, 761/Carnation, and 055/Process Yellow. I liked it.  It was OK.  But it wasn't what was in my head.  It's too bo...
