Yes It's A Holiday Collab | Happy Global Sleep Under the Stars Night

Image
Hello everyone, and welcome to a new "Yes, It's a Holiday" collab with my Instagram friends Debra and Lori .  Today, August 8th, we are helping to celebrate Global Sleep Under the Stars Night.  It's a day to get people to appreciate the beauty of the night sky by sleeping outdoors.  The event was started in 2020 by Eddie Bauer to help celebrate his brand's 100th anniversary.   To read more about today's holiday, just click  HERE . To help celebrate, I made today's card using Mountain Adventure and Glamper Greetings .  Both of these sets were made by Stampin Up and, although retired, you can still find them for sale on Etsy or Ebay.       I made my card base using dark blue cardstock.  Then I cut a piece of white glittered cardstock and adhered it to the card front. I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using a 3.75" x 5" stitched rectangle die. I stamped the mountain from the Mountain Adventure set, masked it off using Ec...

How To Achieve a "Glass Effect" on Cards and Scrapbook Pages | Digital Image and Paper

Image
Have you ever wanted to achieve the look of glass on an image for a card?   The other day I bought a set of digital wildflower images from the XoXoLine store on Etsy, and one of the images was a broken lightbulb with a simple flower growing out it.  I wanted to use this image for a card, and I wanted the lightbulb to look like glass by using Diamond Glaze.   Links to any products I used are at the end of this blog post.   Here is a step-by-step for the card I made. The first thing I did was to print the lightbulb image at 70% on white cardstock and die-cut it using a 3.25" x 4.5" stitched rectangle die.  Using the same die, I cut 4 more pieces using scraps of white cardstock.   I adhered all the pieces together, keeping the image of the lightbulb on top.  The reason for the layers of cardstock is to make the image more sturdy so that, when you apply the Diamond Glaze, the cardstock does not bend or warp.   I colored the ...

Say Cheese Camera Birthday Card | Angie Blom Paper | Photographer Card

Image
I was asked to make this card for someone in town, and I am sharing how I made it since everything I used is digital, and easy to get if you want to remake this idea.  The person who wants this card is giving it to a female photographer.  She asked for the card to have a camera on the front, maybe some flowers, and, if possible, could I incorporate the phrase "Say Cheese" somewhere on the card.    Can I make it?  SURE!  Easy-peasy!  Links to everything I used are at the end of this post.  For the paper, I printed out the paper that says "Say Cheese" all over it from the Say Cheese Digital Paper collection by Angie Blom Digital Designs.  Then I die-cut a piece of it using a 4.25" x 5.5" stitched rectangle die from Pink and Main, and adhered it to the front of the black card base.  For the camera with the flowers, I printed two of the cameras with flowers (link below), and colored them with Touch alcohol markers.   One,...

Tulip Birthday Card | Angie Blom Digital Designs

Image
Hello everyone.  Hope everyone had a nice Christmas or a nice first night of Hanukkah, if you celebrate.  Christmas day was a very quiet day.  While we watched Christmas holiday movies, I colored a bunch of new digital stamps from Angie Blom Digital Designs that I got the other day as an early birthday gift to myself.  She's having a sale y'all - 50% off site wide, no coupon needed, and it runs until the end of the year.  I have no affiliation with Angie Blom and just love to share with my followers the brands I love to use.     I'm trying to get a jump on holidays/celebrations for 2025 and today I made a birthday card using stamps from 2 different sets -  Tulip Hello  and Let's Party Birthday .   I printed one of the designs from Tulip Hello, die-cut it using a 3.75" x 5" stitched rectangle die from Pink & Main, and colored the image using some alcohol markers that I picked up here in Brasil.  I knew I was goi...

Technique Junkies | July Stamp Release | Day 7 Costco Shopping Cart

Image
Hello everyone and welcome to Day 7 of the  July 2024 New Stamp Release  with  Technique Junkies .  For the first 8 days of every new release, the new stamps are 15% off and I wanted to showcase a different card on the first 7 days and a recap on the 8th day.    For today's card, Day 7, I made a tall slimline card using the new Costco Shopping Cart stamp on the front of the card, and a birthday sentiment from   Another Year, Set of 5   on the inside - both from Technique Junkies .  I have to admit that I miss Costco.  We don't have it here.  What I don't miss is how much money we spent there and how long the receipt used to be.  LOL.  I have a friend who LOVES Costco and sometimes she will call me and allow me to visit via video with her.  Hence this birthday card.   To make this card:  I made a top-folding slimline card A2 card using white cardstock and  adhered some colorful striped paper...

Image
Hello everyone and welcome to Day 6 of the  July 2024 New Stamp Release  with  Technique Junkies .  For the first 8 days of every new release, the new stamps are 15% off and I wanted to showcase a different card on the first 7 days and a recap on the 8th day.    For today, Day 6, I made a fun birthday card for the snail lover in your life.  We all have one.  Don't we?  For this card, I used the Swirly Snails  stamp on the front of the card, and a birthday sentiment from Grand Greetings on the inside of the card, which I also paired with the balloon from Let it Go - all from  Technique Junkies .     To make this card:  I made a top-folding A2 card using black cardstock. I stamped Swirly Snails on white cardstock, die-cut using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die, and adhered it to the card front.   I glued tiny googly eyes to the snails and I added a Tim Holtz quote that would work for a b...

Yes, It's a Holiday - National Give A Bunch of Balloons MONTH

Image
Hello everyone and welcome to a new "Yes, It's a Holiday" collaboration with my friends Debra and Lori over on Instagram.  This month we are kicking it off on the 1st of the month because on June 1st National Give A Bunch of Balloons Month begins.    Yes, this truly is a holiday and it lasts all month!  According to National Today , National Give a Bunch of Balloons Month is celebrated in June to raise awareness about children who are sick and to find ways to reduce their suffering and spread joy in their lives.  The simple fact is that giving a child a balloon can lift their spirits and make them happy.  You can read more about this holiday by clicking on the links.  And what better way for a cardmaker to help celebrate than by making a card that is filled with balloons.  I picked today's holiday because of the paper, below, that I have in my stash.  It's called Feliz Aniversario, which means Happy Birthday in English, and is made...
