  Hello everyone!  It's a holiday today here in Brasil, it's very quiet out there and I decided to make a few cards using two sets from KCS Designs by Kim - a band new sentiment set - Word Snippets Books & Reading - that paired perfectly with  Whimsical Tea & Tales Clip Art , a clip art set with 24 images of books, butterflies, and cups for coffee or tea.    I printed two of the images from  Whimsical Tea & Tales Clip Art  at 50%, and I die-cut them using a 3.25" x 4.5" stitched rectangle die from Pink & Main.  Then I printed two of the sentiments from  Books & Reading Word Snippets ,  at 100%.    Using white cardstock, I made two top-folding A2 card bases.   I didn't have a book or reading paper for my background, so I hopped on DigitalScrapbook.com and downloaded two fun papers - Enchanting Books Paper (the colorful paper) and Book Page Paper (the B&W paper).   I adhered on...

  Welcome to a new "Yes, It's a Holiday" Collaboration with my friends Deb and Lori on Instagram.  Today, July 30th, we are celebrating Paperback Book Day.   According to National Today, in 1935, Allen Lane, owner of Penguin Publishing, was on the verge of going bankrupt, and he was looking for any idea to save his company.  One day, while on a train with Agatha Christie and her husband, they talked about the low quality of paperbacks at the time.  He wanted higher quality paperbacks like Agatha's books, which Penguin was already publishing, but in hardcover.  He then got the idea to start offering higher quality books in paperback, and on July 20, 1935, they published Ariel by André Maurois.  It was one of ten titles released on that day, and it started the "Penguin paperback revolution".    To read more about today's holiday, just click  HERE  or HERE .  To help celebrate, I made today's card using the I Like Books, Girl...
