Like Wildflowers; You Must Allow Yourself To Grow (with Coffee!)

Image
Hello everyone.  So, here it is, Tuesday night and I am trying to figure out what card to make for tomorrow.  I want it to be about coffee since the Spring | Summer 2018 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop is still going strong (850 entries so far).  But I get distracted when I am stressing myself out so I jumped on Pinterest to see if something inspired me.  The first image I saw was this quote about wildflowers growing.... ...and, lately, I have felt like this wildflower - trying to grow here in Brasil where I never thought I would.  And that sparked my idea to use flowers in a coffee cup!!!  I know...a strange path but I will not argue with fate!  LOL I pulled out two sets - Coffee Cup Clear  by  Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps  and Wildflower Set 465 by Rubbernecker Stamps , which, sadly, is no longer being made, but other flowers stamps will work just as nicely.   I started with an A2 base of white cardstock....

Prozac, Schmozac....Give Me A Martini

Image
Good morning everyone!  I wanted to share a few cards I made using a digi image called JJ Christmas Cheers by Bugaboo Stamps .  Each card has a different sentiment.  These cards were all made in jest and I hope no one takes offense to them. Also, while working on the card at the top yesterday I saw on Facebook that my friend Karen will be having some surgery. She loves a good martini and is always joking about it.  Karen, even though we don't talk often, I do think about you a lot and am dedicating this card to you with hope for a speedy recovery and that you will be able to kick Harvey out the door!!   It's a very simple card to make.  I started by printing out the digi on white cardstock and colored it in with a few Copic markers.  I then stamped the sentiment called Prozac (244-01) by Rubbernecker Stamps under the image with Onyx Black Versafine ink and then heat dried.  I then cut the image out using the large stitched recta...

Freshly Made Sketches #248 - Clean Underwear & A Dirty Martini

Image
Hello everyone.  Me again!  Two posts in one day - I know, crazy!!  But I wanted to share with you a card I made for this week's Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #248 . You have until 2pm tomorrow to upload a card so maybe, if I post it today, someone will see it and try to make something too!   Here is the sketch to work with -   While I was making my " Jake & Chloe Lemonade Scene ", I was going through my stash of Clear & Simple Stamps and came across this older set called "Martini Darling" and then, in another box, I came across this phrase from Rubbernecker Stamps called "Dirty Martini".  I knew I would have to use these two sets together soon and put them away for that day.   Well, today was that day.  LOL  Unfortunately the Martini Darling set has been retired by Clear & Simple but the phrase by Rubbernecker is available but in a different format - HERE . I started with a top folding A2 white cardsto...

Let's Do Lunch...with Bella...in the Car - Stamp Ink Paper Challenge Funny Card

Image
Happy Sunday everyone.  I hope everyone is having a great weekend.  We went to see the cherry blossom trees blooming yesterday in Sao Paulo.  It was a lot of fun but very crowded.  We even took Bella and she loved not only the car, but the whole day.   Wanted to share another quick card I made the other day for this week's Stamp Ink Paper Challenge -  Funny/Punny cards.  You have until tonight at 8:00 pm Eastern time to get one entered!!   I started with two pieces of this blue paper I had in my stash.  I loved that it already looked distressed and didn't need to do much with them.  I started by using Ocean Border  by Impression Obsession.  There are two dies in the set that coordinate with each other and I die cut two pieces of the same paper each with a different die.  Then I distress the edge for the top die with Broken China distress ink.  This way there will be some dimension between the waves. ...
