Retro Rubber Challenge No. 235 | When Life Hands You Lemons | Technique Junkies Stamps

Image
Hello everyone.  It's been a long time since I have played along with the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog but when I saw their latest challenge - Challenge No. 235 - I knew I had to make a card or two.     Below is the inspirational graphic for this challenge - to use at least four colors in the graphic and the stamps have to be at least a year old.  The lemon theme is optional but, I have 3 "lemon" stamps, all more than a year old, that are perfect to use on the cards - Make Lemonade Background , Call the Girls , and Lemons - all from Technique Junkies . As much as I love the Make Lemonade Background stamp, the thought of coloring the whole image was too much for me to think about this week.  So I stamped the image twice on scrapbook paper and die-cut them using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die.    Here is the horizontal card I made using Lemons as the sentiment and yellow enamel dots as some accents on the card front. For the vertical ...

Hello Spring Flowers...

Image
Hello everyone.  As my peeps in the USA enjoy spring, flowers popping up, and warmer weather coming their way, here in Brasil we are in fall and heading into winter.  But the weather here is still nice and we even got some flowers from the garden center to plant.   There are a few challenge blogs with either a flower or "anything goes" theme that I will be entering this into.   http://crafterscastle.blogspot.com/2020/05/may-challenge-29-april-winner.html https://aperfecttimetocraft.blogspot.com/2020/05/a-perfect-time-to-craft-open-challenge.html https://www.retrorubberchallengeblog.com/my-blog/2020/05/challenge-134-spring-flowers.html I am using a stamp set called Best Buds from Paper Smooches that I have owned for at least 2 years but it has never been used.  Until today!   These are the supplies I used in making this card.  I adhered a piece of pink cardstock to my card base. Next, I pulled ou...

Retro Rubber Card Challenge - Purple, Yellow, and Green - Birthday Card

Image
Hello everyone.  It's been a long time since I played along with the folks over on the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog and I thought I would make today's card for their Challenge No. 115 , which is all about purple, yellow and green.  Perfect colors for flowers.  Also a great time to use some of my stash that has not been used in over a year! For today's card, I was inspired by  Penny Black and their stamp called Bunches For You .  I love this stamp but it would take forever to get here if I ordered it.  So I decided to "case" it using some things I have in my stash that have not been used a long time.  Not the same but close.  LOL   I found a paper pad in my stash called Artist by Paper House.  It's retired but had the perfect colors for my card base.  I adhered a piece of purple to the card front.  Then, using the largest die from Stitched Rectangles ( Memory Box/30009 ) I cut a piece of white cardstock....

Retro Rubber Challenge No. 76 - Merry & Bright with Gina K Designs and Memory Box

Image
Happy Cyber Monday everyone!!  I hope everyone had a great weekend and got some great deals.  I was a very good boy and only bought some stamps from a really cool company in the Ukraine.  Now I get to wait... Today I have a card I made for Challenge 76 on the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog , which is an "Anything Goes" challenge.   I decided to make a Christmas card using a stamp set called "Merry and Bright" that I bought from Gina K Designs ....YEARS ago....and had yet to use! Unfortunately it is no longer being made but you can find so many other beautiful designs on her site!   I started by adhering a piece of red cardstock to my top folding card base. I also cut a piece of white cardstock using the Stitched Rectangle die from the Stitched Shapes set (Simon Says Stamp).  I then placed the Starlit Breeze die (Memory Box) across the cardstock and cut that die.  Keep the stars that fall out for other projects. ...

Retro Rubber Challenge 75 - Fall Colors with Inkadinkado and Hero Arts Ombré Inks

Image
Hello everyone!!  While I was putting away the Halloween stamps last week I found a small stamp set of leaves that I had never inked up and figured they would have to wait until next year.  Then I saw this "fall leaves" challenge by the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog and had to go pull them out!!    I have to admit that it feels a little strange to be working on a fall card since it is Spring here but I am happy to be back playing with the amazing ladies for the current Retro Rubber Challenge 75- Fall Colors -   I started by stamping the leaves from Leaves (99489) (Inkadinkado) (circa 2009) onto a piece of a yellow post-it note to make a mask.  Then I grabbed 3 of my Ombré inks (Hero Arts) in autumn colors -   Light Ruby to Royal Red (AF319) , Butter Bar to Orange Soda (AF309) , and Ombré Autumn (AF366) . I started by stamping the largest leaf in the Light Ruby to Royal Red ink on a piece of white cardstock, 3 5/8" x 4n7/8"....

Guest Designer With Retro Rubber Challenge No. 71 - Anything Goes

Image
Hello all.  Well, Mother Nature is certainly pissed off at the world lately.  This has kept me up at night since I have friends and relatives in the Houston and Miami areas.  But everyone survived with minor damage.  I hope all my readers also got through this unscathed.   Today I am happy to announce that I am the guest designer with the amazing team over at the  Retro Rubber Challenge Blog  for their current Challenge No. 71 - Anything Goes . I had a hard time deciding which theme to go with - Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving...but I settled on Halloween.  I went through my stash and pulled out a few stamps to use - all over a year old.  Probably over 5 years old.  But hardly ever used.   I started by making a top folding A2 card base out of black cardstock.  I then cut 2 pieces of white cardstock using the large stitched rectangle die from the Bundle of Stitched Shapes set ( Simon Says Stamp ). ...

Retro Rubber Challenge #70 - Back To School

Image
Hello everyone and Happy Thursday!  I hope everyone is well.  It's been a crazy week here.  Ruy and I had a photo exhibition last weekend at the Belle Epoque Cultural Center here in town, which we did as a benefit for a charity.  It was nicely received and was a great feeling to see everyone's reactions to our photos.  I will try to get a post done this weekend about the show.  Of course afterward, I got sick for a few days, but am finally back up and running.  Today is Brasil's Independence Day so everything is closed and I finally found some time to do a new blog post.   Yes, 2nd post about "back to school".  This time for the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog  -  I started with a piece of white cardstock.  Using some washi tape I taped down the "Numerals" stencil (TCW200S) by The Crafter's Workshop .  Next, using a mini blending tool (Ranger) with some inks from Reverse Confetti ( Piggy Bank, Salsa , an...
