Super Easy Easter Cards/Notecards with Memory Box

Image
Hello everyone!  I hope everyone had an awesome weekend.  On Saturday we had a table at a friend's "crop".  It was an Easter themed class and was a lot of fun.  The rest of the weekend was just getting all those little things done!   I have also been really busy pumping out some 4" cards for Easter and wanted to share a few with you guys this week. These are super easy and super fast to make and are the perfect size to add to an Easter basket or, if you are heading to Easter lunch or dinner, the perfect size to slip into that small gift or plate of food you are bringing.  And, with a 12" x 12" piece of cardstock, you can make 3 - 4 cards.  I started by cutting two pieces of white cardstock, 4" x 8", and scoring them in half.  This gives me my 4" square card base.  Then, using Stitched Square Layers (Memory Box) , I cut two pieces of cardstock - one in pink and one in blue, which I then adhered to the card front.   Th...

JOY = Gratitude with Emma the Rag Doll and Clear & Simple Stamps

Image
Hello everyone!  Hope your weekend has started off well.  I am hoping to work in the garden this morning and make some sense of all the plants that have decided to take root!  They are calling for rain today and I am hoping they are wrong.   Today I wanted to share a card I made yesterday for The Daily Marker 's 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  I used several stamp sets from Clear & Simple Stamps .  I really love their whole Rag Doll line  as they are so unique and different and I will need to add a few new ones to my collection soon.  Every year they send a free gift to everyone that has purchased from them during the year and the phrases on this card was one I got - I think two years ago - and I just love love love this phrase.  It needs to be made into a permanent stamp.   I started with a top folding A2 card of white cardstock.  I adhered a piece of Christmas themed paper to the card front. Then I cut a piece of white...

SIP Sketch Challenge 67 with Clear & Simple Stamps and a Sheared Lamb

Image
Hello everyone!  I hope everyone is having a great week so far.  Mine has been busy and strange so far.  LOL.  Today started off with a visit to the vet for Bella who has to have two screws in her mouth removed on Thursday.  The strange thing was that they had their first lamb arrive to be sheared.  You have to admit that you don't get to see this every day at the vet...unless you live in the countryside.     Friends of ours do a scrap/stamp charity class each month and this past Saturday I had the pleasure of teaching a class for them.  About 20 women had a lot of fun making a mini accordion album. I also had the pleasure of being named one of the "top picks" over at the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog for my "upcycled" Christmas tree ornament in their challenge last week.  You can check out all the winners HERE  and you can check out my post on the ornament HERE .  Thank you to the ladies over at th...

Paper Players Challenge 310 - Happiness is....Cupcakes!

Image
Hello everyone - again!  I know...2 posts in one day.  I made another card today so that I could play along with some of my friends on  The Paper Players Challenge Blog .  Since the challenge ends tomorrow at Noon (PST), I decided to upload this now in case someone wants to make a card too.  This week's  Challenge No. 310  is a sketch by Nance - and a really easy one to work with - After going through my stash of papers to find a design that was talking to me, I settled on a cupcake theme for my card and I already knew the perfect sentiment for it too.  I started with a top folding A2 card base of Kraft cardstock. Then, using a solid pink cardstock that went well with the designer paper, I cut two pieces, 3.5" x 4" and 1 5/8" x 4", distressed the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, and adhered them to the card front, following the sketch.  Then, using the design on the back of Cupcakes Creme by Arte Facil Artesanato , a Brasilia...

Retro Rubber Challenge No.45 - Baby Girl Card with Clear and Simple Stamps

Image
Hello everyone!!  Did you know that today is National Dog Day ?  I didn't either until I started to see all these posts on Facebook and Instagram.  In honor of today...and because I freakin LOVE dogs (all animals really)....and we have 6 dogs...I thought I would post 2 of my favorite photos of the dogs -  Top to bottom is - Sunshine (son of Max and Bella), Latte (son of Max and Bella and Sunshine's best friend), Max (father of Sunshine and  Latte - and  Whiskey and Capuccino, both of whom have been adopted), Bandido (who showed up on our door for one night and has yet to leave), and Bella (The Princess who puts up with all the others). Sasha, the Pit, who is 5 years old and, unfortunately, does not play nice with the other 5.  So she stays with us in the store. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, I will posting a few other photos of the beasts.  LOL Now, for today's card.  Today is the last day to enter a card in t...

Retro Rubber Challenge No.45 - Baby Boy Card with Clear and Simple Stamps

Image
Hello everyone!!  Happy Hump Day!  The week is almost over.  LOL.  Today I wanted to show you a card I made for the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog .  This week's Challenge 45 is a sketch challenge -  I had so much fun with this sketch.  I needed to make a baby boy card so I pulled out this set called Cart Pals: Baby by Clear & Simple Stamps .  I think I have owned this set for over 3 years now and am just getting to ink it up.  It's a great set and since this sketch is so easy, I plan on making a baby girl card and a few others with this set.     (A side note here - Clear & Simple is having a "retiring" party and this set is one of the sets retiring.  It normally sells for $24 but is on on sale for $16.80.  Once the retiring sets are gone, they will be gone.  So if you like this set, grab it.  You can check out all of the retiring items HERE .  Also, I earn nothing if you make a purchas...

Freshly Made Sketches #248 - Clean Underwear & A Dirty Martini

Image
Hello everyone.  Me again!  Two posts in one day - I know, crazy!!  But I wanted to share with you a card I made for this week's Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #248 . You have until 2pm tomorrow to upload a card so maybe, if I post it today, someone will see it and try to make something too!   Here is the sketch to work with -   While I was making my " Jake & Chloe Lemonade Scene ", I was going through my stash of Clear & Simple Stamps and came across this older set called "Martini Darling" and then, in another box, I came across this phrase from Rubbernecker Stamps called "Dirty Martini".  I knew I would have to use these two sets together soon and put them away for that day.   Well, today was that day.  LOL  Unfortunately the Martini Darling set has been retired by Clear & Simple but the phrase by Rubbernecker is available but in a different format - HERE . I started with a top folding A2 white cardsto...

Jake & Chloe Are Selling Lemonade By The Beach

Image
Hello everyone!  I hope y'all had a great weekend.  I put the final touches on today's  project, which took over 3 weeks to finish!  This might be a long post but I hope you can read through the post and see how all the different components came together to make this creation. Way back in the day I used to love building scenes with rubber stamps and would spend countless hours using multiple images that have nothing to do with each other but, when used together, gave me a piece of "art".   Several companies are represented in this piece but the main images are from Clear & Simple Stamps , a company I stumbled upon many years ago.  I immediately fell in love with their "Rag Doll" line because, for the first time, there were images for African American crafters.  And they were fun, young and fresh!  I found out a few weeks ago, after posting some "sneak peeks" on my Instagram account , that the whole line is designed by Steph Zerbe ...
