Yes It's A Holiday Collab | Happy Global Sleep Under the Stars Night

Image
Hello everyone, and welcome to a new "Yes, It's a Holiday" collab with my Instagram friends Debra and Lori .  Today, August 8th, we are helping to celebrate Global Sleep Under the Stars Night.  It's a day to get people to appreciate the beauty of the night sky by sleeping outdoors.  The event was started in 2020 by Eddie Bauer to help celebrate his brand's 100th anniversary.   To read more about today's holiday, just click  HERE . To help celebrate, I made today's card using Mountain Adventure and Glamper Greetings .  Both of these sets were made by Stampin Up and, although retired, you can still find them for sale on Etsy or Ebay.       I made my card base using dark blue cardstock.  Then I cut a piece of white glittered cardstock and adhered it to the card front. I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using a 3.75" x 5" stitched rectangle die. I stamped the mountain from the Mountain Adventure set, masked it off using Ec...

If You Give A Crafter A Cookie Challenge No. 123 - CAMPING!!

Image
Hello everyone!  It's that time again...time for the next challenge over on the  If You Give A Crafter A Cookie Challenge Blog  -   Challenge No. 123 , which is all about camping, campfires, and smores.  Sadly, I have to admit, that I have never been camping.  But I still had fun making this card and it's such a simple, yet fun card to make. First off, here is the inspiration photo that the DT had to work with -  I have no traditional camping stamps and the digital stamps I found online were not really inspiring me so I went back to my stash and found a stamp set from Stampin Up called "Glamper Greetings".  I bought this about 2 years ago and I decided to finally put some ink to these stamps and go with a different sort of camping...a camper!!   I started by cutting a piece of white cardstock with a stitched rectangle die.  Then I put the camper stamp, along with the sentiment, into my Misti and I stamped the ...

If You Give A Crafter A Cookie Challenge No. 122 - ROBOTS!!

Image
Hello everyone!  Well, it's time for the next challenge over on the If You Give A Crafter A Cookie Challenge Blog !!  We are up to Challenge No. 122 and this time it's all about Robots!!  Here is your inspiration photo if you want to play along -  I realized when I saw the above photo that I didn't have any robot stamps!  But then I remembered that, for some super strange reason, I have two stamps sets called Lots o Bots (Stampin Up/Retired).  Why I have two, I have no idea, but one of them came in perfect for this card.   I started with a side folding A2 card base of white cardstock.  Then, using a stamp positioner and Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the left edge with the 0/1 stamp in the Lots o Bots set. Then I cut a piece of white cardstock and a piece of white fun foam, 3.75" x 5.5", embossed the cardstock with the gears embossing folder from the Clock and Steampunk Set by Tim Holtz/Sizzix , adhered the fun foa...

Stamp Ink Paper - Anything But A Card Challenge - 3D "UpCycled" Ornament

Image
Hello everyone!  It's getting hot here!  Although our spring starts here this week, it's already feeling like summer.  And, as much as I love the heat, it would be nice to have a bit of spring first.  LOL  Today is Tuesday and that means there is a new challenge on the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge Blog .  This week's Challenge #66 is Anything But A Card  -  And....since the stamps I am using in this project are older than dirt (LOL) I am also entering this into this week's Challenge 47 on the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog , which is "Anything Goes" -  I don't know what part of my brain came up with this project - "upcycling" a roll from packing tape into a 3-D Christmas tree ornament.  The idea is really the fault of my friend Ana Stela who was here one day and saw me throw a roll into the garbage.  She told me I was crazy for not holding on to these for future projects and asked if she could have them.   Well......

Two Lips...I Mean...Tulips for Your Birthday

Image
Happy Monday y'all.  I hope you had a nice weekend. I did.  The weather was great, we had a BBQ, and I got a lot done.  I was inspired to make this card after I went to the garden center last week and saw a bunch of beautiful tulips.  I remembered that I had this set from Stampin Up called Blessed Easter, which, unfortunately, is retired.  But I came home and made the card.  I like the way it came out and I hope you do too. I started with an A2 top folding card base of white cardstock.  I dug through my stash of papers and found this one with all the colors that I thought would look great with some tulips.  (I have no idea who makes the paper but if you do, leave the info in the comments below and I will update this post).  I cut a piece, 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", distressed the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, and adhered it to the card front. Using the two largest dies from the  Stitched Circle Layers set, I cut a piece of o...
