Hello everyone, and welcome to the August 2025 Edition of the Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas with Deb and Lisa.  If you are new here, on the 25th of each month, we (the Crafty Elves) post one or more holiday cards in hopes that we inspire you to start making your own so that, come November, we have cards ready to mail.

This month I used Christmas Collage from Viva Las Vegas Stamps.  I've had this stamp in my stash for years, and it felt great to put some ink on it.  If you are interested in this stamp, check out THIS link.  You can buy this stamp wood mounted, on cling, or as an unmounted stamp. 

To make this card:
  • I made a 5.75" square card base using red cardstock, and adhered a piece of white cardstock, 5.5" square to the inside. 
  • I cut a piece of holiday paper, 5.5" square, and adhered it to the card front.
  • I stamped Christmas Collage on white cardstock using Onyx Black Versafine Ink.  Then I embossed it using clear embossing powder. 
  • I die-cut the image using a 4" stitched square die, layered it on a piece of red cardstock, adhered a piece of fun foam to the back, and then adhered it to the card front. 
  • I stamped Merry Christmas on white cardstock, die-cut it using a stitched banner die, layered it on red cardstock, and adhered it to the inside of the card. 
  • Lastly, I adhered 4 small red crystals to the card front as an accent.  


Here's one more card I made using the same stamp and idea.  Slightly smaller in size and I used gold mirror paper on the front, and I embossed a piece of red mirror paper, and stamped the Christmas Collage in red ink.

BLOG CANDY STENCILS!!! BLOG CANDY STENCILS!!!!!

**Blog Candy Update!!  -  I have a few more items to my Blog Candy -  A 6x6 StencilGirl Stencil called  Bird In Window by Pam Carriker, a box of Brasilian chocolates, a Brasilian Scrapbooking magazine called Guia do Scrapbooking, which means Guide to Scrapbooking.  It's in portuguese but you can get great ideas with the pictures and layouts they give.   And I have added a 6" x 6" Gelli Arts Gel Printing Plate!!!  --------------------------------------------- Hello everyone!  My first Blog Candy post!!  Long story short - in November, when StencilGirl had their big Black Friday sale, I placed an order.  Due to a glitch in their system (but in our favor) the same order was shipped to me - twice.  Since I did not pay for one of the orders, I emailed John at StencilGirl and he told me to keep them and offer them up as blog candy at a later date.  Hence....this BLOG CANDY post!!  All you have to do i...

Do You "STENDOODLE"?

A Bunch of Stendoodled Pieces I Made Have you ever gotten an idea and thought that it was going to be the next amazing thing in the paper crafting world?  The one no one else has ever thought of?  Well this happened on my recent trip back home to NYC.  I was not able to bring a lot of art materials home with me but I was able to squeeze into my luggage my tombow markers, some permanent markers, a bunch of stencils, and a Zentangle book.  I have always loved the look of Zentangling and I was determined to finish a full project by the end of this trip.   One night I traced the outline of the Blazonry stencil on some watercolor paper and then sat - for hours - trying to make many of the Zentangle designs in the book.  It did not look great.  It didn't even really look good.  I realized that this Zentangling was not as easy as it looked and that it probably takes a lot more practice than I was willing to give it on this trip.    ...
