Coffee Loving Cardmakers - Guest Designer - Stamplorations 3D Coffee Ornament No. 1

Image
Hello everyone.  Thanks so much for all the love after my first "Guest Designer" post last Friday over on Coffee Loving Cardmakers .  It put a smile on my face all weekend!! For this week, Week 2, I have two 3D Coffee To Go Ornaments that you can make for your Christmas tree, to hang from a window or even the rearview mirror in your car, which is where mine is.  Today I show how I made the smaller one and tomorrow, over on my blog, I will have a post for the larger size ornament.   I've loved making 3D projects since I stumbled on Outlines Rubber Stamps years ago.  Sadly, they are out of business but I still love to find stamps that I can make a 3D project with.  And the "to go" coffee cup images from Stamplorations make it super easy!  Let me show you how.     I had already decided to make this ornament with 3 "levels" so the first thing I did was to print 6 of the same image.  This project uses the  Flor...

Stamp Ink Paper - Anything But A Card Challenge - 3D "UpCycled" Ornament

Hello everyone!  It's getting hot here!  Although our spring starts here this week, it's already feeling like summer.  And, as much as I love the heat, it would be nice to have a bit of spring first.  LOL  Today is Tuesday and that means there is a new challenge on the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge Blog .  This week's Challenge #66 is Anything But A Card  -  And....since the stamps I am using in this project are older than dirt (LOL) I am also entering this into this week's Challenge 47 on the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog , which is "Anything Goes" -  I don't know what part of my brain came up with this project - "upcycling" a roll from packing tape into a 3-D Christmas tree ornament.  The idea is really the fault of my friend Ana Stela who was here one day and saw me throw a roll into the garbage.  She told me I was crazy for not holding on to these for future projects and asked if she could have them.   Well......

Steampunk Easter Egg Ornament

Image
I have to admit that I am NOT a "Steampunk" person. I do love doodads and whatchamacallits.  To collect. In a drawer. Or glass jar. To admire.  This project started because we sell these chipboard gears in our store and they had been whispering in my ears for weeks!  I just had to use them.  We had also just gotten in a shipment of embossing enamels from Stampendous and I wondered how the chipboard would look with the enamels.  So I started to play.  I have no idea what part of my brain this project came out of but I really love the end result.   The ornament is about to take a journey across the ocean to a very special person in New Jersey that loves Steampunk!!  I hope Toniann Carbone loves admiring it as much as I loved making it for her!!   Although the gears I used in this project are made by a Brasilian company, and I was on the fence about whether or not to post this step by step. But, since there are plenty of compani...

Stendoodle An Ornament With Stencil Girl Stencils

Image
Continuing on my quest to "Stendoodle" the world....here is a really easy and fun idea for making a unique ornament for your Christmas tree or to give as a gift.  I could do a week of Stendoodled ornaments but, with Christmas less than a week away, we will only do one.  Supplies Used: Stencil Girl Stencils - Circle on Circle (9x12) , Circle 9 (9x12) , Ray Circles (6x6) Spellbinders - 2012 Heirloom Ornaments Nestabilities ( S5-116 ) - but any of their Heirloom Ornament dies would work too. White cardstock Gold cardstock HB Graphic pencil Pencil Sharpener Eraser Black permanent pen i.e. Micron, Sharpie, etc. - fine tip Coloring medium - I used Wink of Stella Brush markers in blue, red, yellow, and green. Piece of ribbon Glue - I used a 2 way glue with a chisel tip by Zig  Step by Step: 1.  Cut and emboss the largest die, twice, out of gold cardstock.  Now place the same die on a piece of white cardstock and trace the inside of ...
