  The idea for this "home decor" piece came after I watched THIS video on how to make a shadowbox.  The box measures 6" x 6" and the inside is 4.5" x 4.5", which is the perfect size for the Wreath 2 stamp I wanted to use.   You could also use Wreath 3 and, for a Spring/Floral box, you can use Wreath 4 . So, the first thing I did was to make my shadowbox using a piece of textured red cardstock.   Instead of me showing how to make the box, it's better if you just watch the video.  She does a great job showing how to make the box.     I also cut 4 strips of decorative paper to fit the 4 sides of the front of the box.   Next, I adhered the strips to each side of the shadowbox.   I cut a piece of white cardstock with a 4" stitched square die.  Then I stamped the Wreath 2 image using Onyx Black Versafine ink and then I heat embossed it using Black Sparkle Embossing Powder by Ranger.  Then I colored the wreath with...

Happy Tuesday everyone!!  I hope y'all had a nice weekend.  What a busy weekend!  Friday night Ruy and I went CNA, one of the language schools in town, for a Pizza Rodizio.  A "rodizio" pretty much means "all you can eat". Then on Saturday night we went to our friends Cris and Baron for one of his gourmet dinners.  Baron loves to cook and he did not let us down.  Salmon, asparagus risotto, and potatoes.  YUM! We stayed until 2 am and I woke up on Sunday with whatever I was battling two weeks ago.  Ugh! Happy Sunday everyone!  I saw on the news that almost all of the USA is under a heat advisory and I hope everyone is staying safe and crafting inside with the air blowing.  LOL. Thanks so much for all the love yesterday with my DIY Photo Frame .  It seems a lot of folks loved this project.  Today I am going to show you how to make your own "Uncle" to put in the frame. Hello everyone!  Today I have a fun, whimsical, and colorful project.  But, first, you know that there has to be a back story.  LOL.  Back in January I won a contest that Susan K. Weckesser was having on her blog - {my sweet earth} .  I won a bunch of stickers, papers, and embellishments from Fancy Pants Designs , I also got to pick one of Susan's rubber stamp sets (I picked What's Up Gnomey ), which she co-brands with Unity Stamp Co. , and she also sent me 5 of her new inks that have recently been released by Clearsnap under the Color Box line. I have to say - that was a great box o goodies to win! I was so excited when I was asked to be part of this blog hop - a hop about the book by Stencil Girl herself, Mary Beth Shaw.  And, trust me, this is THE BOOK to have to learn mixed-media techniques to use with your stencils. I cannot believe that it has been over a month since I have picked up a stencil.  I have been giving classes in the store on making a baby album and they have kept me busier than I ever expected. I'm very excited to report that my StenDoodle technique is being profiled on an amazing blog out of Australia - called  Sparkle Tart !
