Happy 250th Birthday USA | Slimline Card | KCS Designs by Kim DT Project
Hey everyone. Well, it's the July 4th weekend in America. Sadly, I am not there to enjoy the fireworks and the heatwave. This is one of my favorite holidays, and I miss being in NY for it. To help celebrate, I made this slimline card to help celbrate the 250th birthday of the USA.
I used two images from the Painted Americana Clip Art set from KCS Designs by Kim on Etsy. To help celebrate even more, KCS is having a 50% off sale through July 5th, 2026. As you know, I am on the Design Team for KCS, and if you have loved any of my cards, this is a great time to stock up on digital papers, clipart, ephemera, folio kits...you name it.
To make this card:
- I die-cut a piece of red cardstock using a 3" x 7.5" stitched slimline die. Then I die-cut the stars in the red cardstock using the Stars Background Slimline Die from Creative Expressions.
- I cut a piece of glittered white fun foam and adhered it to the back of the red/star cardstock.
- I adhered the red cardstock with glitter fun foam to a piece of 3 1/8" x 7 7/8" white cardstock, leaving a small edge.
- I cut a piece of blue cardstock using a 3 5/8" x 8 5/8" stitched slimline die, and I adhered the red/white piece to the blue.
- I made my 3 5/8" x 8 5/8" card using white cardstock, and I adhered the red, white, and blue to the front.
- From the Painted Americana Clip Art by KCS Designs by Kim, I printed the 250th image (twice) and the Happy Birthday America image (once), both at 80% on white cardstock.
- Using a stitched slimline die, I die-cut the Happy Birthday America image, and I fussy-cut the numbers from the 250th image.
- I adhered the Happy Birthday America to the inside of the card.
- I glued the numbers together (to make them firmer), went around the edges with a black marker to hide the white cardstock, and then adhered them to the front of the card using foam squares.
Here's the final card, front and inside.
