The Crafty Elves Countdown To Christmas - January 2026 Edition
Hello everyone, and Happy New Year. Welcome to the January 2026 Edition of the Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas with Deb and Lisa - otherwise known as The Crafty Elves. On the 25th of each month, we (the Crafty Elves) post one or more holiday cards in hopes that we inspire you to start making your own. This way, by November, we will have cards ready to mail or to give to people during the holidays.
I am kicking off 2026 with a slimline Christmas card full of triangle trees...I mean, Repeatable Christmas Trees, a digital image from Line Art Lover on Etsy. I fell in love with this image because the trees are all in one image, and there is no need to layer them in a graphics program. Easy peasy!
If you would like to re-create this card or make one like it, this is what I did:
- I made a top-folding slimline card using white cardstock, 3 5/8" x 8 5/8". Then I adhered a piece of Christmas paper to the front.
- I printed the Repeatable Christmas Trees on two pieces of white cardstock.
- I colored one of the images using my BIC Intensity Ultra Fine Tip markers and cut it down to 3.25" x 8.25".
- I fussy cut the 5 trees in the front from the 2nd image and colored them.
- I adhered fun foam behind the colored image of all the trees, and adhered it to the card front.
- I placed foam squares behind the 5 individual trees and adhered them to the card front, giving a 3D look.
- Lastly, I stamped Season's Greetings (an old stamp from Hero Arts), die-cut it using a stitched banner die, layered it on a piece of red cardstock, and then added it to the card front.
I hope you have enjoyed this card idea, and I hope it inspires you to start making your own holiday cards this year. Don't forget to visit the other Crafty Elves and see what they made. All our social media links are below.
