The Crafty Elves Countdown To Christmas - January 2026 Edition

Hello everyone, and Happy New Year.  Welcome to the January 2026 Edition of the Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas with Deb and Lisa - otherwise known as The Crafty Elves. On the 25th of each month, we (the Crafty Elves) post one or more holiday cards in hopes that we inspire you to start making your own.  This way, by November, we will have cards ready to mail or to give to people during the holidays.   

     

I am kicking off 2026 with a slimline Christmas card full of triangle trees...I mean, Repeatable Christmas Trees, a digital image from Line Art Lover on Etsy.  I fell in love with this image because the trees are all in one image, and there is no need to layer them in a graphics program.  Easy peasy!

If you would like to re-create this card or make one like it, this is what I did:
  • I made a top-folding slimline card using white cardstock, 3 5/8" x 8 5/8".  Then I adhered a piece of Christmas paper to the front.  
  • I printed the Repeatable Christmas Trees on two pieces of white cardstock.
  • I colored one of the images using my BIC Intensity Ultra Fine Tip markers and cut it down to 3.25" x 8.25".
  • I fussy cut the 5 trees in the front from the 2nd image and colored them.  

  • I adhered fun foam behind the colored image of all the trees, and adhered it to the card front.  
  • I placed foam squares behind the 5 individual trees and adhered them to the card front, giving a 3D look.  
  • Lastly, I stamped Season's Greetings (an old stamp from Hero Arts), die-cut it using a stitched banner die, layered it on a piece of red cardstock, and then added it to the card front.

  Hello everyone!  It's the 15th of the month and that means that there is a new "Anything Goes" card challenge over on the  QKR Stampede Challenge Blog .   Since Easter is fast approaching I decided to make an Easter card and fell in love with the Happy Easter with Bouquet Digital Stamp .  I knew this would make a beautiful slimline Easter card.   I printed the Happy Easter with Bouquet digital stamp - twice - on a sheet of white cardstock and colored one of them using some GRAF Duo alcohol markers and the Key Lime ultra fine-tip maker from BIC.    Next, I die-cut it using the smaller stitched slimline die from the Slim Stitched Rectangle Die Set from Pink Fresh Studio. Introducing Bella Bulb - A Member Of Craft Hoarder's Anonymous

When I was first approached to be part of the StencilGirl/Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge blog hop, I just laughed out loud!  Me?  A craft hoarder?  Duh!  Not only have I been hoarding craft supplies for over 20 years but when I moved here to Brasil from New York City, I took it all with me.  And then I started to hoard Brasilian craft supplies. Okay, I admit it - I AM A CRAFT HOARDER!     For this blog hop, the artists had only two rules - use StencilGirl stencils and then to dig through our craft hoard and use whatever we wanted to use.  I grabbed stencils (duh) sprays, pastes, paints, makeup sponges, lots and lots of BLING, you name it.  Heck, I even grabbed my bag of keyboard letters and some fake eyelashes that were in the hoard.  Told ya, I am a craft hoarder. **Blog Candy Update!!  -  I have a few more items to my Blog Candy -  A 6x6 StencilGirl Stencil called  Bird In Window by Pam Carriker, a box of Brasilian chocolates, a Brasilian Scrapbooking magazine called Guia do Scrapbooking, which means Guide to Scrapbooking.  It's in portuguese but you can get great ideas with the pictures and layouts they give.   And I have added a 6" x 6" Gelli Arts Gel Printing Plate!!!  --------------------------------------------- Hello everyone!  My first Blog Candy post!!  Long story short - in November, when StencilGirl had their big Black Friday sale, I placed an order.  Due to a glitch in their system (but in our favor) the same order was shipped to me - twice.  Since I did not pay for one of the orders, I emailed John at StencilGirl and he told me to keep them and offer them up as blog candy at a later date.  Hence....this BLOG CANDY post!!  All you have to do i...
