July 4th Card No. 1 Using Painted Americana Clip Art | KCS Designs by Kim DT Project
Hello everyone. I may not be living in the USA anymore, but I am still an American and, to be honest, I really miss the 4th of July, the fireworks, the beach, and the BBQs. I still love making cards to help celebrate the holiday and, over the next few days, I will be posting a few. Today is the first card.
All of the cards I will be using these digital products from KCS Designs by Kim.
- The images I am using are from the Painted Americana Clip Art set from the KCS Designs by Kim Etsy store.
- The papers I am using are from a FREE 4th of July Papers kit from the KCS Designs Ko-Fi page. Everything in her shop is FREE and you only need to enter $0.00 to get the item. If you want, you can pay for the item - any amount you want, even $1 - to show your appreciation to the seller. But they are FREE!
These are the papers in the collection.
To make my card:
- I made a 5.5" x 5.5" card base using white cardstock. Then I cut a 5.5" x 5.5" piece of blue cardstock, a 5.25" x 5.25" piece of red cardstock, and a 5.25" x 5.25" piece of red fun foam (optional).
- I adhered the blue cardstock to the card base, the red fun foam to the back of the red cardstock, and then to the card front.
- I printed the paper with the American flags - from the 4th of July kit, trimmed it to 5" x 5", and adhered it to the card front.
- I printed the red, white, and blue star from the Painted Americana Clip Art set. Then I fussy-cut the image, scored the lines on my score board, added small foam squares on the underside of the star at the tips of each point, and adhered a small rolled-up piece of paper towel to the center. This way, when I adhere the star to the front of the card, the star should not flatten out much.
Done!
The inside has space for a message. I chose not to add a sentiment to the front of the card so that it could be used as a decor piece for the holiday.
I hope you have enjoyed this July 4th card idea. I hope so! Until next time...
Hugs from Brasil.
~Michael
