Happy Pork of July | July 4th Card | Pig Card | KCS Designs by Kim DT Video Project

Hey everyone.  I may not live in the USA anymore but I still love to make cards for July 4th and, honestly, miss this holiday.  I have loved pigs since a kid and have a large selection of pig rubber stamps but, this "Happy Pork of July" stamp is my favorite.  It's been in my stash forever - it was made by Hambo in 2009.  Even though I can only use it for one holiday a year, it's a keeper. Do you guys have a stamp like this in your stash?

If you would like to see how I made the card, below is my video on my World of Michael Trent YouTube Channel.

To make this card:

  • I made a top-folding A2 card using white cardstock.
  • Using a 4.25" x 5.5" stitched rectangle die, I die-cut a piece of dark blue cardstock.
  • Using a 3.75" x 5" stitched rectangle die, I die-cut a piece of white and a piece of red cardstock.
  • I embossed all 3 pieces with the Lots of Stars embossing folder from Taylored Expressions.  It's several years old and hard to find.  But you can use any star embossing folder you might have.
  • I cut a 3.75" x 5" piece of red fun foam.
  • Using the dark blue cardstock scrap, I cut a piece of it 1/2" x 3.75".
  • I printed the July 4th pig at 50% from the Painted Americana Clip Art from KCS Designs by Kim.
  • I adhered the blue embossed cardstock to the card front.
  • Place the red embossed cardstock on the white and move it until you feel the stars click in, layering on each other.  It will be about 1" to 1.5" in from the left.
  • Holding them securely, turn them over and add a piece of scotch tape to hold them together.
  • Flip the white piece back, add glue or double-sided tape to the red area, then flip the white piece back and secure them together.
  • I adhered the red fun foam to the back of the red and white cardstock piece.
The I adhered it to the card front.
  • I adhered the dark blue strip to the card front.
  • I stamped the sentiment, die-cut it using a stitched banner die, and layered it on a piece of the dark blue cardstock.
  • I added foam tape pieces to the back of the pig.
  • Then I adhered the pig and sentiment to the card front.
  • Lastly, I added 3 enamel star dots to the card front.

Here's the final card.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.  Until next time...

Hugs from Brasil.
