Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste | KCS Designs by Kim Collab | Ink Botanics Card

Hello, y'all.  Today, I am joining my friends Deb (Meticulosity) and Celeste (Crafting Junky) for a new collaboration we are calling the KCS Designs by Kim Collab, since we are using digital printables from KCS Designs by Kim, a store on Etsy.  KCS sells digital products for you to use in your junk journals, cards, home decor, or anything else you can think of making.  I am also on the KCS Designs by Kim Design Team, and I love almost everything in her store.

Before I get to how I made my card...since this posts at Midnight, when I wake up later today, I plan on enjoying a cup of Lingua de Gato coffe from Dolce Gusto, a Brasilian coffee brand here.  We went on vacation a few weeks ago, and I came home to find this 4-pack sampler waiting for me as a gift.  Dolce Gusto is one of my favorite coffees here.

Now, for today's cards.  I used an image from InkBotanics Photoshop Brushes from KCS Designs by Kim.  As soon as I saw these B&W images, I pictured a card where certain flowers would be in color, against the B&W image, and would pop off the card front.  Even though these brushes are made to be used in Photoshop or another graphics program, they are JPEG files and can be used like any other digital jpeg.

To make this card:
  • 1 printed one of the images twice, on a sheet of white cardstock.  I trimmed one of them to 4.75" x 6.75", adhered a piece of fun foam to the back, and then adhered it to the front of a 5" x 7" card front.
  • I colored the large set of circles at the top in yellow tones to act as the sun, and I added some yellow stickles for shimmer and shine.
  • I colored in a few of the smaller flowers and leaves, added some green stickles to the leaves, and a few crystals.
  • I added a simple sentiment to the card front, and tiny beads to the centers of the flowers, and set it aside to fully dry.
  • To finish off the card, I cut a piece of white cardstock, 4.75" x 6.75", and adhered it to the inside of the card where a message can be written.
Here are some close-ups of the finished card, which I freakin love!  :-)

Here is another card I made using a different image from the InkBotanics Photoshop Brushes set.

I hope you enjoy the card as much as I enjoyed making them.  I'm excited to see what Debra and Celeste have made.  You can check out their cards on their blogs - links are below.

Until next time...

Hugs from Brasil.
