A Good Friend Is Like A Warm Cup of Coffee Card

Hello everyone.  I cannot believe how many of you loved the cards the past two days that I made with the die by Frantic Stamper.  Several of you told me you were going to go buy the die just from seeing my cards.  That makes me feel great. I wish I made a commission.  LOL.  There is another die, also by Frantic Stamper, that I am doing something cool with too.  But that will have to wait till next week.  Several people also mentioned that this would be a good video to make and...well....I might just give it a shot.

For today, I have a very simple card to make - start with a card base of Kraft paper, 4" x 8", scored at 4" and top folding. Adhere a piece of dark brown cardstock (darker than the Kraft color) - 3.75" x 3.75" - to the card front.  Next, cut a piece of white card stock and a piece of brown fun foam - 3.5" x 3.5". We'll use the fun foam soon.

I started with the phrase.  I wanted the phrase broken up into two lines but did not want to cut the stamp.  I covered "A good friend is like" with painter's tape, stamped the phrase with Ground Espresso Distress Ink, removed the painters tape and then stamped it on the cardstock.  Then I cleaned my stamp REALLY well.  Then I covered the part that says "a warm Cup of coffee" with painter's tape, and stamped it above the first image.  (I started with the 2nd part of the phrase first because it was longer).

After this I stamped the coffee cup, the steam, and the coffee beans, on the right side of the white cardstock.  I used a Marvy Matchable ink in Brown so that I could use copics with them.  All 3 of these images come from a set by Fiskars called Latte Love.  I then colored in the cup with some Copic markers.  Then I adhered the piece of brown fun foam to the back of the white cardstock and adhered it to the card front.

The final part was to apply some glossy accents on the steam, the beans, and the 3 circles on the cup.  Done!!

Truly, not a difficult card to make.  I hope you liked this quick card.  Remember to leave a comment below for a chance to win all the cards I am making in February!!  Until next time -

Hugs from Brasil -
Michael
