Brasilian Thank You Card

Image
Hello everyone!!  I am still fighting this cold, which I seem to have gotten at the Mega Craft Show last week.  I am not complaining since it has given me a very sexy voice.  LOL. But I do hope I am over this soon.   Just so you know up front - I totally got the idea for today's card from Pinterest!  This is one of those cards I keep seeing - with bright colors and ink splat stamps.  I just needed to get this out of my system. I made this card for a customer who likes my cards and I cannot wait for her to get it.    I just wish I had gotten a better photo of the final card before I sent it off!!   I also got to use some brand new inks by Susan K. Weckesser , which are made by  Clear Snap  under the Color Box brand.  I have more to say about these inks in this Saturday's post.   I started with a top folding A2 white cardstock card base.  Then I used different splatter stamps from the Distressed Pattern...

Stamp Ink Paper Black & White Challenge or Every Day Is An Oreo Day!

Image
Hello everyone!!  I had so much fun at the Mega Artesenal. The show was huge and I walked a lot of it with my friend Carla.  It was great to meet some Facebook friends in person, watch demos, and buy new things (like stencils).  I'll have some photos during the week.  Today I am here for the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #57 - Black & White Challenge  -  As soon as I saw that it was a Black & White theme, I immediately thought of Oreo cookies.  Yes, I admit it, I have a problem with Oreos - mainly Double Stuffs. I LOVE them. Oreos did not exist here until about 2 years ago.  Now we have the original vanilla and original chocolate flavors and I am patiently waiting for the day that we get Double Stuffs!! One time I even did a StenDoodle TM  of the Oreo logo, which you can check out HERE . This is such an easy card to make since all you really need is black and white cardstock, black ink, and some Oreo rubber st...

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge - Christmas (or Chanukah)!

Image
Hello everyone.  At the moment I am on my way into the big city - Sao Paulo - for 3 days. I am attending the Mega Artesenal, which is, I believe, the largest arts and crafts fair in South America and includes everything - rubber stamping, papers, patchwork and fabric, stencils, fine art products, Dremel, and a huge area of handmade items that you can buy outright. It only happens once a year and since I was in NYC last year at this time and missed the show, to say that I am super excited to be going this year, would be an understatement. Feel free to follow me on Instagram at " worldofmichaeltrent " as I will be sharing photos of the show.   Today's card is for the new Stamp Ink Paper Challenge - Christmas in July .   But, being a nice Jewish guy (that lights a menorah and decorates a Christmas tree), I was told that it was okay for me to make a Chanukah card.  Hey, I betcha there are Jewish people that follow the blog!   I started by making...

Daisies In A Watering Can

Image
Hello everyone.  TGIF!!  I hope everyone had a great week.  Why does it feel like this week took forever to end?  I am really looking forward to the weekend and I best most of you guys are too.  Although this card is not CAS (clean and simple), I do think it works as an easy card.  I think.  LOL.   I started with a top folding A2 white card base.  Then I adhered a 1"x 5 1/2" strip of silver cardstock down the left side of the card front.  Then I adhered a strip of striped washi tape down over the silver piece. After that I dug through my stash and found a paper I liked from an old 6x6 pad.  I cut a piece 3 1/2" x 5 1/2", adhered it to a piece of fun foam, distress the edges, and adhered it all to the card front next to the washi tape strip. After this I die cut and embossed the Memory Box Garden Watering Can using the same silver cardstock I used for the strip, and then adhered it to the card front.  I stamped the ...

I Often Think of You!

Hello everyone.  I hope you guys are having a good week.  It's almost Friday.  LOL.  On Tuesday I blogged about THIS card, which I used for the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge .  But I actually made another card first, which is today's card and works off the same sketch that the challenge was using -  I love feathers, feather stamps, and papers with feather images on them.  Every day when I walk one of the dogs I tend to find a feather or two on my path and if they are in good condition I bring it home with me for my jar. One of these days I will figure out what to do with this growing stash.  For this card I used part of a sheet of wrapping paper I had bought on one of my trips to NY from The Paper Source, as well as one of those new rubber stamps I got this week in my box of goodies from my friend Sue.  {Thanks Sue!| I started with an A2 top folding white card base.  On the right side of the card front I adhered a piece of blac...

OOPs....Have A Safe Trip!

Hello everyone!!  Happy Hump Day.  Before I get to my card for the day, I wanted to tell you guys that my good friend, Justin Krieger, was asked by Hero Arts to be part of their blog hop for their July monthly kit.  I am really happy for him and hope that you guys can go show him some love by clicking HERE to check out the shaker card he made for the blog hop. The list of all the other designers for the hop is HERE and they all have amazing projects too. Now, on to my card I made for today and The Daily Marker's 30 Day Challenge.  This is a really, really simple card to make.  I like simple. I need to embrace simple more often.  LOL.   The image I used is from a really cute set called "Oops" by Local King Rubber Stamps .  This set is so perfect for the summer.  It has 3 images - the surfboards, a row of beach chairs, and a clothesline with bathing suits hanging on it.   I started with a top folding A2 card base of white c...

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge No. 55

Image
Happy Tuesday!!  I hope everyone had an amazing July 4th weekend (if you are in the states).  I miss standing on the roof of my old building watching the fireworks over the NYC skyline with my neighbors! For my Independence Day we went to see ....Independence Day 2.  It was okay.  Pretty much the same movie from 20 years ago but with better effects.   There is a lot going on today.  I am here today with a card I made for the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge  No. 55 , which is a sketch challenge this week. And, as I promised, the card is much easier than my last card, the Flip Flop card.  LOL   I was asked on Friday to cover for one of the designers of the SIP blog and I also got a box of goodies from my friend Sue, which included a bunch of stamps from Unity Stamp Co. (one of my favs).  I figured it was as good a time as any to break some of these babies in!   This is also the first day of the new "30 Day Coloring Challenge"...
