OOPs....Have A Safe Trip!

Hello everyone!!  Happy Hump Day.  Before I get to my card for the day, I wanted to tell you guys that my good friend, Justin Krieger, was asked by Hero Arts to be part of their blog hop for their July monthly kit.  I am really happy for him and hope that you guys can go show him some love by clicking HERE to check out the shaker card he made for the blog hop. The list of all the other designers for the hop is HERE and they all have amazing projects too.

Now, on to my card I made for today and The Daily Marker's 30 Day Challenge.  This is a really, really simple card to make.  I like simple. I need to embrace simple more often.  LOL.   The image I used is from a really cute set called "Oops" by Local King Rubber Stamps.  This set is so perfect for the summer.  It has 3 images - the surfboards, a row of beach chairs, and a clothesline with bathing suits hanging on it.

I started with a top folding A2 card base of white cardstock.  I found a piece of scrap paper in my stash that looked like the color of beach water (in Miami, not off the coast of NY). LOL.  I cut a piece 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and adhered it to the card front.  Then I cut a piece of navy blue cardstock, 3 1/4" x 4 3/4", which I adhered to the center of the card front.

Then I cut a piece of white cardstock, 3" x 4 1/2", and stamped the image of the surfboards in the center using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Under the image I stamped the phrase "Have a safe trip!" from the Life Stuff Sentiments set.  I think the phrase is very tongue in cheek considering the surfboard with the huge shark bite out of it.

Then I colored them all in with Copic markers. Lastly, I applied a coat of Diamond Glaze by Judikins over all the surfboards to give a nice shiny look.

Here is a close up -

After the Diamond Glaze was dry (about 2 hours), I cut a piece of fun foam and adhered this under the cardstock with the image.  Then I adhered this whole piece to the navy blue cardstock.  Done!!

See?  I told you it was easy.  I hope you enjoyed this card.  Tomorrow I have another card I made based on the sketch from the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge from yesterday.  Until next time -

Hugs from Brasil!
Michael
