I Often Think of You!

Hello everyone.  I hope you guys are having a good week.  It's almost Friday.  LOL.  On Tuesday I blogged about THIS card, which I used for the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge.  But I actually made another card first, which is today's card and works off the same sketch that the challenge was using -

I love feathers, feather stamps, and papers with feather images on them.  Every day when I walk one of the dogs I tend to find a feather or two on my path and if they are in good condition I bring it home with me for my jar. One of these days I will figure out what to do with this growing stash.  For this card I used part of a sheet of wrapping paper I had bought on one of my trips to NY from The Paper Source, as well as one of those new rubber stamps I got this week in my box of goodies from my friend Sue.  {Thanks Sue!|

I started with an A2 top folding white card base.  On the right side of the card front I adhered a piece of black and white striped washi tape from MT.

Because the paper with the feathers on it was very soft, I knew I would have to adhere it to a piece of chipboard first.  So I cut a piece of chipboard, 3 3/4" x 5 1/2", and adhered a piece of the feather paper to the front.  Then I trimmed the corners and adhered some of the paper to the back of the chipboard.  Here is the front and back of how it looked -

Then I adhered this part to the card front next to the washi tape.  I also liked how it gave a raised effect on the card front.

Next I cut a piece of white cardstock, 3" x 4 1/2", and stamped one of the feather images and one of the phrases, both from the Feather Soft Love kit by Unity Stamp Co., using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Then I colored it in using Copic markers.

Lastly, I adhered the feather piece to a piece of black cardstock, 3 1/4" x 4 3/4", adhered this to the card front and then glued down some blue sequins.

That's it.  Done!!  See?  Not very difficult.  This was actually a nice sketch to work off of.  I see that they only have a few cards uploaded so far.  If you want to upload one of your own creations, all the info is HERE.

Enjoy the rest of your day.  Please let me know what you think of the card by leaving a comment below. You can also follow me on Instagram if you want at "worldofmichaeltrent".  Until next time -

Hugs from Brasil -
Michael
