Yes It's A Holiday Collab | National Mutt Day

Hello everyone, and welcome to a new Yes It's A Holiday, or Yes, It Is A Holiday collab with my Instagram buddies - Debra and Lori.  Today, December 2nd, we are helping to celebrate National Mutt Day, which occurs twice a year - today, December 2nd, and July 31st, and each day encourages us to save a mixed breed dog.  Being someone who has rescued his crew of mutts over the years, there is nothing more rewarding than giving a mutt, especially one living on the streets or an older dog, a loving home.

Here are some of our mutts...

Olivia and Bandido giving me hugs and kisses.

To help celebrate, I made two fun and colorful cards using the Quirky Mutt Dog Clip Art/Whimsical Dogs Digital Papers from Juella Consuella on Etsy.

Card No. 1 - Princess Bella of Bella Bellaland

  • I made a top-folding A2 card, 5.25" x 5.25".
  • I printed one of the designs from the Quirky Mutt Clip Art - a dog with sunglasses on whose name is Princess Bella of Bella Bellaland.  Then I trimmed it to a 5" x 5" square, adhered a piece of fun foam to the back, applied Diamond Glaze to the sunglasses (for a glass effect), and set it aside to fully dry.
  • I went through my stash of papers, found one that matched the colors in the image, and adhered a piece to the card front.
  • Once the Diamond Glaze was dry, I adhered Princess Bella of Bella Bellaland to the front of the card.
  • Lastly, I adhered half pearls around her neck to make Princess Bella more glamorous than she already is.
Card No. 2 - Mr. Max

  • I made a top-folding card measuring 5.75" x 5.75", using blue cardstock.
  • I printed two of one of the designs from the Quirky Mutt Clip Art - a blue dog with a collar and a tag.  I trimmed one of the images to a 5.5" x 5.5" square, adhered a piece of fun foam to the back, and then to the card front.
  • I fussy-cut the collar and tag from the 2nd image, added some foam squares to the back, adhered it to the card front, added Diamond Glaze to the tag (for a metal effect), and set it aside to fully dry.
  • To finish off the card, I added a sentiment to the front.  Then I adhered a piece of white cardstock to the inside along with 2 more sentiments.

I hope you have enjoyed these card ideas.  Please head over to our Instagram pages and check out what Debra and Lori have made.  Our Instagram links are all below.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and, until next time...

Hugs from Brasil.
