He Made It / She Made It Collab with Meticulosity | KCS Designs By Kim | Autumn Cards

Hello everyone!  Welcome to Autumn/Fall and a new "He Made It/She Made It" collaboration with my friend Debra of Meticulosity.  It's been almost two years since we last did a "He Made It / She Made It" collab, and we were both itching to start it again.

Autumn is in full swing, leaves are changing, and there is a chill in the air - at least in the Northern Hemisphere. So, Deb and I decided to create Autumn-themed cards that incorporate some of the digital kits from KCS Designs by Kim on Etsy.  We hope you love what we each came up with, and it will be up to you, the public, to decide if "He Made It" or if "She Made It" ... better.

For both of my cards, I used the Antique Autumn Journal Papers and Autumn Flair Buttons - both from KCS Designs by Kim on Etsy, which are 35% off through September 30, 2025.

Card No. 1

  • First, I made a top-folding slimline card using 2 pieces of white cardstock. I cut a piece 3 5/8" x 9", placed the long side along the top of my scoring tool, and scored at 3/8".  The 2nd piece, I cut 3 5/8" x 8 5/8", with no scoring.  Then I adhered the two pieces together to form my card base.
  • I printed one of the journal papers from the Antique Autumn Journal Papers kit, and die-cut a part of it using a 3" x 8" stitched slimline die.  I also cut a piece of fun foam, 3" x 8".
  • I cut a piece of orange(ish) cardstock using a 3.25" x 8.25" slimline die, and I cut a piece of brown cardstock using a 3 5/8" x 8 5/8" stitched slimline die.
  • I adhered the brown cardstock to the card front, then the orange(ish) cardstock to the brown.
  • I adhered the piece of fun foam to the back of the journal paper with the fall leaves, and then to the orange(ish) cardstock.
  • I printed one of the sentiments from the Autumn Flair Buttons kit.  I die-cut it using a stitched circle die, die-cut a piece of the dark brown cardstock using the next largest stitched circle die, and adhered them together.
  • Lastly, I adhered a piece of fun foam to the back of the sentiment and adhered it to the card front.

Card No. 2

  • I made a top-folding 5.5" square card base by cutting a piece of white cardstock, 5.5" x 11".  Then I placed the long side along the top of my scoring tool, scored at 5.5", and then folded and burnished well with a bone folder.
  • I cut a piece of dark brown cardstock, 5.5" x 5.5", and adhered it to the card front.
  • I cut a piece of orange cardstock, 5.25" x 5.25", embossed it using the Deck Planks 3D Embossing Folder from Altenew, lightly brushed Coffee Archival Ink over the raised side and the 4 sides, and adhered it to the brown cardstock.
  • I printed one of the journal papers from the Antique Autumn Journal Papers kit, cut the desired part to 4.5" x 4.5", distressed the sides with Coffee Archival Ink, adhered a piece of fun foam to the back, and then attached it to the card front.
  • I printed one of the sentiments from the Autumn Flair Buttons kit, and die-cut it using a stitched circle die.  Then I cut two more pieces using the orange and brown, layered them together, added a piece of fun foam to the back, and adhered it to the card front.
  • Lastly, I cut a strip from the scraps I had, layered it on a piece of the cardstock, and adhered it inside the card - just for a fun effect and to bring the theme inside the card.

Now it's time to see the two amazing cards that Debra made.  You can find them on her blog and on her Instagram page.  If you love what I used on these cards, they are all available in the KCS Designs by Kim Etsy store.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  I'd love to know what you think of all these ideas.  So...did "He Make It" better or did "She Make It" better?  LOL Until next time...

Hugs from Brasil.

~Michael
