KCS Designs by Kim Design Team Project - Birthday and Notecard 3D Cards
I hardly ever make traditional junk journals, but I love to use digital junk journal papers and collections in my mini albums, photo folios, and cards. Today I am sharing some cards I made using papers from the Mixed Media Flowers kit - a set of 12 beautiful journal pages of mixed media flower designs.
I've also have a video showing how I made 2 other cards using the same collection, and you can watch it below or on my YouTube Channel - World of Michael Trent.
KCS Designs by Kim is also having a Summer Sale - 45% off the entire store - through July 31, 2025.
Card 1
- I found an image I wanted to use. Then I printed two of them on a sheet of white cardstock at 52%. Printing at 52% will print your images just shy of 4.5" x 5.75", which will allow the whole image to fit nicely on the front of an A2 card.
- I made a top-folding A2 card using white cardstock.
- Then I used the 4.25" x 5.5" stitched rectangle die from the Stitched Rectangle Set 1 Dies set from Pink & Main to cut one of the images, which I adhered to the front of the card.
- Then I fussy cut and distressed the edges of 3 of the flowers from the 2nd image, added some foam tape to the back of each of them, and adhered them to the card front..
- To finish off the card, I went through my stash of sentiments, adhered one to the card front that says "just wanted to say..." and then I added a "Happy Birthday" sentiment to the inside of the card.
- Using another page from the Mixed Media Flowers digital kit, I printed two of them at 52%, on a sheet of white cardstock.
- Then I die-cut one of them using the 3.75" x 5" stitched rectangle die from the Stitched Rectangle Set 1 Dies set by Pink & Main, and fussy-cut the flower and the leaves in the second image.
- I made a top-folding A2 card using Kraft cardstock, and distressed the edges of the card and the die-cut image with Coffee Archival Ink. I layered the die-cut image on a piece of purple cardstock, adhered a piece of fun foam to the back, and adhered it to the card front.
- I distressed the edges of the fussy-cut flower and leaves with Coffee Archival Ink, added foam tape to the backs, and adhered them to the card front.
- To finish off the card, I added a sentiment to the front. Then I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die and adhered that to the inside for a message. And I adhered some tiny white pearls to the center of the flower.
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today. I hope you enjoyed these card ideas. Until next time...
