Yes, It's a Holiday - World Tourism Day

Hello everyone and welcome to a new Yes, It's A Holiday blog collaboration that I do with my friends Debra and Lori over on our Instagram pages.  But, at times, I also do a step-by-step here on my blog.

Today we are celebrating World Tourism Day.  As National Today explains, World Tourism Day helps raise awareness of the need for accessible tourism all over the planet and that today's holiday is the result of the work done by the UN's specialized agency, the World Tourism Organization (WTO).  I LOVE to travel but, sadly, I have not left the country since Oct. 2019 due to ongoing issues globally.  There are still so many places I want to visit and photograph.

Anyway....

I was trying to think of a fun idea for today's holiday, and all I kept thinking about were those fun old-time/vintage-type luggage labels.   I jumped on Etsy, did a search, and found this fun set of vintage-type Junk Journal Travel Ephemera from Polka Art Studio, which I bought.  Then I printed the 3 sheets of labels on white cardstock.

Right away I saw labels from Brazil, NYC, Rio...and other fun countries/cities, so I fussy cut them all.  I figure, that whatever I don't use, I can use for another project.

For my card base...I made an A2 card base of white cardstock.  Then I pulled out "The Maps, Text & Ledgers Stack" from DCWV, pulled out a map design, and adhered it to the card front.

Next, I decided on which labels to use and I arranged and adhered them to a piece of white cardstock.  Then I used my 3.75" x 5" stitched rectangle die to cut it out. I left the center open because I will use another label there.

I adhered this piece to a piece of black cardstock, trimmed the edges leaving a small border, and then I adhered it to the card front.

Then I took the label that says "Time to Travel", adhered it to a piece of black cardstock, and then I adhered it to the card front.

Done!

If you've read this far, I hope you can find a few minutes to pop on over to Instagram and check out what Debra and Lori made to help celebrate today's holiday.  All of our links are below and it would be awesome if you liked our posts and, if you love what we make, follow us too!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  If you liked what you saw, please, leave me a comment and tell me where you want to go visit if you had the chance.  What's on your bucket list?

Enjoy the rest of your day and, until next time -

Hugs from Brasil!
