Stamp Ink Paper Challenge - Having Fun With the Pun Cards

Hello everyone.  WOW!  I got a lot of love yesterday on the stamped scene I made.  It was so much fun to do that I need to start thinking of the next one.  If you did not get to check it out...just click HERE!

Now...today is Tuesday, which means another fantastic challenge over at the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge Blog.  This week's Challenge #59 is to make a "funny" or "punny" card -

At first I had no idea how to even start on this challenge.  But then I found the perfect "punny" set in my stash and all I had to do was find a good image to go with each sentiment.  I had so much fun with this challenge that I ended up making more than 8 cards, which means more blog posts this week with the other cards!

All 3 cards use a sentiment from Into The Words by Poppy Stamps and a different image from Viva Las Vegas Stamps.

All 3 cards are top folding A2 cards of Kraft cardstock with a piece of white cardstock adhered inside to write on.

All 3 cards have a piece of black and white cardstock on the front of the cards that I die cut with the Die-namics Pierced Rectangle STAX.

Card 1

I stamped Banksy Swing Girl with Versafine Onyx Black ink in the upper right side.  Then I stamped the phrase from Into The Words.  Adhered the white cardstock to the black and then to the card front.

Card 2

This was a 2-step process.  I used the Banksy Balloon Girl image.  First I stamped the girl with Versafine Onyx Black ink in the lower left corner. Then I stamped the balloon and string but I used a red chalk ink on the balloon.  After this I stamped the phrase from Into The Words, adhered the white cardstock to the black and then to the card front.

Card 3

I stamped Spinning Swing Ride with Versafine Onyx Black ink on the left side. Then I stamped the phrase from Into The Words.  Adhered the white cardstock to the black and then to the card front.

That's it!  Done!  I told you, really easy.  I wanted to keep these cards simple and clean so that the focus was on the image and the pun.  I hope you enjoyed these cards.  Which one is your favorite?  Let me know in the comments section.
Also, I hope you find time to make a project of your own for the Stamp Ink Paper Funny Challenge - click HERE to be taken right to the challenge.  Please let me know if you enter anything!

Until next time -

Hugs from Brasil -

  2. These are great cards, Michael. It's hard to choose a favorite. The girl in the swing reminds me of fun days as a little girl, but I like the upbeat sentiment on the 2nd one and the 3rd one takes my breath away just thinking about going on that ride. I love the black image on the white with the black and kraft papers. Can't wait to see the others you created.

    1. Thanks so much HJ. I agree, it is hard to pick a favorite. I used to love the swings in the park near my house as a kid too. And that ride...I used to love it. Now....not so much. LOL. But I do love Banksy images and these are so clean and simple! Thanks for stopping by the blog today.

  5. Awe, your cards remind me when I was a kid and my parents took my siblings and I to the Pike in Long Beach. Thank for bringing back those memories. But thank you even more for being on the SIP team and sharing your gorgeous talent with us.
