Art Squares - Stencil and Color Your Own Piece of Jewelry

Image
Hello everyone!!  Happy Election Day!  I do believe that this is going to be a long and very interesting day and, since I am 3 hours ahead of the states, I will probably not know who won until tomorrow morning!   At least the sun is out and it will be a beautiful day.  Gotta think positive...right?  So for Day 6 of The Daily Marker and the 30 Day Coloring Challenge I decided to go in a different direction.  Actually, I kinda veered way off course and used an Art Square by Inchie Arts  to make a simple necklace.  Art Squares are precision cut mattboard, available in many different sizes, and are perfect to use with ANY medium!  To see all the different ways you can use an Art Square check out the Inchie Arts blog HERE .   Now...to make the necklace - I started by placing a 2" Art Square on my work surface with the Crazed stencil ( StencilGirl Products ) on top of the Art Square.  I then traced the design I wanted with a...

Day 4 and 5 - 30 Day Coloring Challenge/The Male Room Challenge #47 Colors

Image
Hello everyone!!  Happy Saturday night.  This post was supposed to go live this morning but the day completely got away from me.  We had our friend Daise here this weekend giving classes and pretty much played all day.  LOL.  The above baby card I made this morning.  I don't think there is anything more enjoyable than coloring an image while sitting on the veranda, sipping freshly brewed coffee and eating a piece of freshly baked apple cake.  Okay...enough gloating.  LOL Today's card is for Day 5 of The Daily Marker and The 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  It's also being entered into a new card challenge site I stumbled upon called The Male Room .  I know it sounds like a strip club (LOL) but it's a card challenge site for male only projects.  Their current Challenge #47 is to use the colors Orange, Yellow, and Blue (along with some allowed neturals) - I started by stamping the Baby Zoo Umbrella by Whipper Snapper Designs...

Day 3 - 30 Day Coloring Challenge - Clean And Simple - Flower LOVE

Image
Hello everyone.  Today is Day 3 of Kathy Racoosin's 30-Day Coloring Challenge on The Daily Marker and I wanted to share a very clean and simple card I made for the challenge.      I am also going to enter this CAS card into the current challenge over at the CAS on Sunday Challenge Blog since their challenge is Flowers! I used a beautiful heart shaped bouquet of flowers, one little word - love - from a really cool set of words, and some Bic Markers. I started with a top folding A2 card base of white cardstock.  To the front I adhered a piece of red cardstock, 4.25" x 5.5", and set it aside for use later.  I then cut a piece of white cardstock, 4" x 5.25", and stamped the Heart of Blossoms  (Creative Expressions) in Jet Black Archival Ink, which I then heat set. Then I stamped the word "love" from Express Yourself  (Impression Obsession) next to the heart.   I then colored in the the Heart of Blossoms using a variety of  Bi...

Day 2 - 30 Day Coloring Challenge - Watercolor Flowers

Image
Good morning everyone.  Yesterday was the Brasilian  holiday of Finados (Day of the Dead), which is s imilar to other Day of the Dead celebrations, people go to cemeteries and churches with flowers and candles and offer prayers. The celebration is intended as a positive honoring of the dead.  Since there was not much to do, we went to a BBQ with some friends and relaxed.   In the morning I started a card for Day 2 of The 30 Day Coloring Challenge over at The Daily Marker. I've had these whimsical Black Eyed Susans by Art Gone Wild and they were screaming for some watercolor.  So I broke out my distress inks and a waterbrush and had some fun.   I started by stamping the image on a piece of white cardstock with Jet Black Archival Ink and then heat setting it.  Then I stamped a bit of Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade distress inks on an acrylic block and colored in the flowers with a water brush.  I started with mustard seed and then wen...

Day 1 - 30 Day Color Challenge with Bugaboo Stamps

Image
Hello everyone.  I'm so excited!  Today is Day 1 of The Daily Marker 's 6th 30-Day Coloring Challenge.  If you love to color this is the challenge for you.  All that is really required is to color something, for at least 10 minutes per day, for 30 days. There is no pressure and if you miss a day or two it's not a big deal.  I know I will be doing my best to color something for the next 30 days but, as most of you know, life has a way of getting in our way at times.   Kathy has two videos - one is about the challenge and the other is a video about supplies you might want to use.  All the info about the challenge is  HERE !   For Day 1 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge I went with a digi image from Bugaboo Stamps called Coffee Time - Smell The Coffee .  I sized the "coffee cup" image in Word to about 2.75" x 5".   But I decided to use a different sentiment. A few weeks ago my friend showed me a card with a coffee cup...

Happy Halloween - Witch's Shoe with Bugaboo Stamps

Image
Happy Halloween everyone!!  I have to admit that I miss this holiday a lot - mostly the decorations, trick or treating with my nieces, and candy corn!!  I always bought a bag of candy corn because just seeing it made me want it so badly but, after eating the bag, I was done for the year.  LOL In honor of Halloween I have a quick card I made using the Witch Shoe by Bugaboo Stamps .  I sized the image to about 4.25" x 4.25" and printed it on white cardstock.  Then, using Grand Squares (LF-126) by Spellbinders, I cut and embossed the image using the die that measures 4 9/16" x 4 9/16".  Then I used the next larger die and cut and embossed a piece of black cardstock.   I colored in the image using two Copic markers - Fluorescent Dull Y/G Copic (FYG2) and Chrome Orange (YR04), and 3 Bic Markers - Fandango Pink, Sunset Orange, and Stone Grey.  I then went and applied some Orange Peel, Glam Pink, and Firefly Stickles to certain areas of th...

Snowman Shaker Card with Memory Box

Image
Hello everyone!  I hope your weekend is going well so far.  Today I wanted to share another shaker card I made using the Snowman Collage die by Memory Box .  As you guys know I was bitten by the shaker bug and as soon as I saw this guy I knew it would be perfect as a shaker.   Let me show you how I made this guy -  I started with a top folding A2 card base of red shimmer cardstock.  I cut a piece of white cardstock, 4" x 5.25", and centered the whole die on the cardstock and cut it out.  I love the way this die is packaged because you don't need to cut all the pieces apart and you have less chance of losing any of the dies.    I then went back and cut all the little pieces using black, green, orange, and red cardstock -    and assembled the snowman by gluing down the pieces.   Then I cut a piece of acetate and glued it behind the snowman.  You do not want your little sequins and bead...
