Day 3 - 30 Day Coloring Challenge - Clean And Simple - Flower LOVE

Hello everyone.  Today is Day 3 of Kathy Racoosin's 30-Day Coloring Challenge on The Daily Marker and I wanted to share a very clean and simple card I made for the challenge.   I am also going to enter this CAS card into the current challenge over at the CAS on Sunday Challenge Blog since their challenge is Flowers!

I used a beautiful heart shaped bouquet of flowers, one little word - love - from a really cool set of words, and some Bic Markers.

I started with a top folding A2 card base of white cardstock.  To the front I adhered a piece of red cardstock, 4.25" x 5.5", and set it aside for use later.  I then cut a piece of white cardstock, 4" x 5.25", and stamped the Heart of Blossoms (Creative Expressions) in Jet Black Archival Ink, which I then heat set. Then I stamped the word "love" from Express Yourself (Impression Obsession) next to the heart.

I then colored in the the Heart of Blossoms using a variety of Bic Markers - Sunset Orange, Yellow Blaze, Lemon Bliss, Forest Green, Fandango Pink, and Polynesian Purple. I thought of adding either Stickles or Flower Soft to the centers of some of the flowers but I really wanted to keep it "clean and simple". And I really think these flowers pop off the page. You will have to let me know what you think.

Here's a close up of the flowers -

And here is the final card after I adhered the white cardstock to the red card front -

That's it.  Done!  A very simple card but I love how the colors pop off the card front with that white open area around them.  Let me know your thoughts! Until next time -

Hugs from Brasil -

Michael

  1. Hello! I'm loving this card because the heart does pop and it is in the perfect spot with just that word to convey everything. I love the colouring
