Woodblock Wednesday | Slimline Card | Penny Black and A Muse Artstamps

Image
Welcome to Woodblock Wednesday.  The day of the week to use woodblock stamps in your art.  On the last Wednesday of the month, my friend Amy celebrates her love of woodblock stamps with a post on her Woodblock Wednesday Instagram page. If you make a card of your own and link it to hers, you have a chance to win her giveaway.  Check out her IG post HERE . I recently discovered two woodblock stamps in my stash and decided to use them to create this slimline card.  One is called Winsome, from Penny Black, 3811J, and circa 2007.  The other is called Beautiful Day from A Muse Artstamps.  Circa, unknown.  And, if you live in England, you can find the Penny Black stamp HERE .     I made a slimline card base using white cardstock.  Then I die-cut a piece of paper from my stash using a 3 5/8" x 8 5/8" stitched slimline die and adhered it to the card front.  I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using a 3" x 8" stitched rectangle die, s...

Yes It's A Holiday/Yes, It Is A Holiday Card | Paperback Book Day | Angie Blom Digital Designs

Image
Welcome to a new "Yes, It's a Holiday" Collaboration with my friends Deb and Lori on Instagram.  Today, July 30th, we are celebrating Paperback Book Day.   According to National Today, in 1935, Allen Lane, owner of Penguin Publishing, was on the verge of going bankrupt, and he was looking for any idea to save his company.  One day, while on a train with Agatha Christie and her husband, they talked about the low quality of paperbacks at the time.  He wanted higher quality paperbacks like Agatha's books, which Penguin was already publishing, but in hardcover.  He then got the idea to start offering higher quality books in paperback, and on July 20, 1935, they published Ariel by André Maurois.  It was one of ten titles released on that day, and it started the "Penguin paperback revolution".    To read more about today's holiday, just click  HERE  or HERE .  To help celebrate, I made today's card using the I Like Books, Girl...

Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas July Edition with Simon Says Stamp

Image
Hello everyone, and welcome to the July 2025 Edition of the Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas with  Deb  and  Lisa .  If you are new here, on the 25th of each month, we (the Crafty Elves) post one or more holiday cards in hopes that we inspire you to start  making your own so that, come November, we have cards ready to mail.    .       For this card I used the Diamond Parade Die from Simon Says Stamp.  Sadly, it's no longer available but maybe someone out there has one.  I've had this die in my stash for years and before I list it on my Brasilian destash, I wanted to make a card with it.    I printed one of the papers from  this  digital Christmas paper collection on Etsy, available from  Your Paper Stash , die-cut a piece of it using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die, adhered a piece of fun foam to the back, and then to the front of an A2 card using red cardstock.  Next, I die-cut ...

Woodblock Wednesday | Coffee Card | Use Your Stash

Image
Welcome to a new Woodblock Wednesday, the day of the week that we use a woodblock stamp (or more) to make a card or other project.  This week I paired the Coffee Girl rubber stamp on cling from Technique Junkies, with a wood-mounted rubber stamp from Inkadinkado.  Sadly, both brands have closed.          I made a top-folding A2 card using white cardstock and adhered it to my desk using washi tape.  Using vintage photo distress ink, I blended a coffee stencil from my stash to the card front, and set it to the side.    I stamped and colored the two images on a piece of white cardstock, die-cut it using a stitched rectangle die, adhered a piece of fun foam to the back, and then adhered it to the card front.  Lastly, I added Diamond Glaze to the glasses to give a glassy effect and set it aside to fully dry.   I hope you have enjoyed this idea.  Remember to use your stash!!   Until next time... Hugs from Brasil. ...
