Abstract Photographer Folio | Sāo Paulo Walking Tour | Photography Papers

Image
Hey everyone.  OK...so much to talk about.  This past Saturday, Ruy and I joined about 150 other photographers for a walking tour around several interesting spots in Sāo Paulo that was put together by our friend Jose Luiz.  He runs an amazing photo/cinema club in Sāo Paulo called FCCB - Foto Cine Clube Bandeirante.   We met a lot of new people and we took lots of cool photos.  I will have another blog post about that. I wanted to make an album or folio for Jose Luiz and, since there was also a challenge in the Your Book of Memories Community to make the Abstract Folio by the end of January, I decided to make the folio for the challenge and give the album to Jose Luiz.     The papers and clipart I used in the folio come from 3 different sources - Angie Blom Digital Designs, A Whimsical Adventure on Etsy, and my friend Anne of Constantly-Carding.   I had problems finding a mature and realistic collection of papers for photograp...

Woodblock Wednesday | Valentine's Day Card | Woodblock Stamps | Using My Stash

Image
Hello everyone and welcome to another Woodblock Wednesday -  the day of the week we set aside to give some love to woodblock stamps that we have not used in some time.     I am joining my friend Amy for her January Edition of Woodblock Wednesday.  She even has a giveaway this month.  You can check out all the details on her blog by clicking HERE .  To make this card I used 2 woodblock stamps from my stash -  a fairy with a basket of hearts from Great Impressions Rubber Stamps.  Out of biz for some time now.  There is no name on the stamp but there is a number - H208.  Tried to find it online but had no luck. My sentiment is called "I Can't Wait" 1702-G from Rubber Soul .  They still have a website but I have a feeling they are not in biz.   This is how I made the card if you want to make one like it. I made a top-folding 5" square card using white cardstock.   I cut another piece of 5" x 5" white card...

Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas with Deb and Lisa - January 2025 Edition

Image
Hello everyone and welcome to the first Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas of 2025.  I have decided to rejoin my Elf friends Debra  and  Lisa  this year (they gave me a raise and the corner office).  If you are new here, on the 25th of each month, we each post one or more holiday cards so that at the end of the year, we have a bunch ready to send out to people.  And we hope you will join us.          This month's card uses a few Christmas digi sentiments and paper.  No stamping required.   I made a top-folding A2 card and adhered a 1.5" strip of Christmas striped paper to the right side.     Then I cut a piece of red cardstock, 3.5" x 5.5", adhered a piece of fun foam to the back, and then I adhered it to the card front.   I cut a piece of white cardstock, 3 3/8" x 5.5", embossed it with the " Christmas Wishes" embossing folder from Crafter's Companion , and adhered it on the red cardsto...

2025 Card | Woodblock Wednesday Card | Christmas Slimline Card | Hero Arts | Memory Box

Image
Hello everyone and welcome to a new Woodblock Wednesday card idea. Wednesday is the unofficial day of the week to give your woodblock stamps some love.  Today I am using a woodblock stamp called Winter Trees (K5814) from Hero Arts .  Hero Arts has had many stamps over the years called Winter Trees but this one is circa 2014 and, believe it or not, I found one,  HERE , for sale.  I am pairing the stamp with a die called Deer Trio from Memory Box, circa  2013, and some digital sentiments I bought on Etsy. Here's how I did it. I cut a piece of white cardstock, 3.25" x 8.25", and, using a stamp positioner and Onyx Black Versafine Ink, I stamped Winter Trees by Hero Arts several times until the front was fully covered.  Then I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.   I made a top-folding slimline card base using white cardstock - 3 5/8" x 8 5/8".   I die-cut a piece of red cardstock using a stitched slimline die, which I then adhe...

2025 Cards 9-12 | Caffeine Fueled Coffee Cards for the Criminal | Inauguration Day Cards

Image
Hey all, today is a sad day for America. Well, not for 77,303,573 people. I still cannot believe that today, the USA will inaugurate its first criminal as President. I will be consuming a lot of coffee today, and to help ease the pain of this reality, I made a few Warholish coffee-themed cards. I made 4 top-folding A2 card bases using Kraft cardstock.   I stamped  Bunch of Beans  from  Technique Junkies , on four different brightly colored cardstock using Jet Black Archival Ink from Ranger.  I was trying to channel my inner Warhol and chose pink, blue, yellow/orange, and green.   I die-cut each of the stamped images using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die, adhered a piece of black fun to the back of each one, and then I adhered one ot each card front.      For the inside, I die-cut 4 pieces of white cardstock using the same 4" x 5.25".   I printed 4 sentiments from the  Caffeine Craze  digital ...

2025 Card 5 | Mosaic Background | Angie Blom Digital Designs | Getting Inspired By Others

Image
Hey all.  Today I am sharing a card that was inspired by a card I saw on Facebook made by Angie Cimbalo.  It's such a cool card.  Not having the supplies she used, and not wanting to wait 3 months for them to arrive here in Sao Paulo, I wanted to try and make it using a digital stamp.  You can check out how Angie made her card using a 3D embossing folder from Spellbinders by clicking  HERE .  I hope she's okay with me using her as inspiration.    Here we go.... I started with a top-folding A2 white card base. I cut a piece of gold mirror cardstock, 1/2" wide, and adhered it from the upper right corner to the lower left corner.  You could also use gold washi tape or a glitter paper too.   I printed Mosaic Background from Angie Blom Digital Designs , at 100%, on a piece of white cardstock, die-cut the image using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die, and then I cut the image in half on a diagonal.   Then, using 4 different c...
