Draped Ornaments Slimline Christmas Card | Technique Junkies | BIG SALE!

Hello everyone.  I hope y'all are doing well this holiday season.  I've been busy giving some album classes to photography clubs and making special order albums for some people in town.  Today I just had to make a card for a change of pace.  The stamps I used are on sale and that info is at the end of today's post.

Today's card is a slimline Christmas card using 2 stamps from Technique Junkies -Draped Ornaments and Dotted Merry Christmas.  I also used 2 dies from the Essentials: Slim Stitched Rectangle Die Set from Pink Fresh Studio.

  • I made a 3 5/8" x 8.25" slimline card base by cutting a piece of white cardstock, 7.25" x 8 5/8"", then scoring on the short side at 3 5/8".  Folded it in half, burnished well, and I had my base.
  • Using the largest of the slimline dies from the Pink Fresh Studio Slim Stitched Rectangle Die set, I die-cut a piece of red cardstock and adhered it to my card front.   If you do not have these dies, you can cut a piece of red cardstock, 3 5/8" x 8.5/8".
  • I used the largest non-stitched die to cut a piece of white cardstock.  Then I stamped Draped Ornaments on the cardstock - twice - using a stamp positioner and black ink.  If you do not have this die, cut a piece of white cardstock, 3.25" x 8.25" and then do your stamping.
  • Then I colored all the ornaments using my Ultra Fine Tip BIC markers and stamped Dotted Merry Christmas in the lower right corner.
  • I adhered a piece of fun foam to the back and then I adhered the colored ornaments to my card front.  If you don't have fun foam, you can use foam tape.

To finish off the card...
  • I adhered some small crystals to the larger dots in the image, on the strings that are holding the ornaments.
  • Then I added various Stickles to the ornaments for even more bling.

The 2 stamps I used on this card - Draped Ornaments and Dotted Merry Christmas, are part of the HUGE sale - everything on the Technique Junkies website is 30% off (no coupon code needed) and, if you use my code at checkout, TJ10Michael, you will save an additional 10%.  THAT...IS...A...DEAL.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  If you'd like, please leave a comment below and let me know what you think of the card.  As always, until next time...

Hugs from Brasil.

Glittery Snowflake Card with Momenta and Ciao Bella

Hello everyone.  I wanted to share a quick card I just made using a Snowflake Cover Die from Momenta (No. 2219525) that I found in my stash.  It's long retired but I did fine THIS ONE for sale on Poshmark - if you want to snag it.   I loved making this card because it can be for any of the holidays - Christmas, Hanukkah, even Kwanzaa - just add the sentiment you need for the holiday.  And using white glittered fun foam makes it so much easier.

Here's what I did:
  • I made an A2 size card using dark blue cardstock.
  • I cut a piece of white glittered fun foam, adhered some 2" double-sided tape to the back, and die-cut the Momenta Snowflake Die.  If you don't have the fun foam, you can use glittered cardstock.
  • After carefully removing all the pieces I did not need, I adhered the glittered snowflake to my card front.
For the inside:
  • I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die, stamped and embossed the snowflake sentiment from the Poinsettia stamp set from Ciao Bella Paper, and adhered it to the inside.  Then I colored the words "snowflakes" and "different" using a light blue fine-tip marker.

  • Lastly, I added clear Swarovski crystals to the center of each of the snowflakes on the front of the card, which you probably can't see in the photo but, trust me, they are there.

Done!  Hope you guys liked this quick idea.  Does anyone use fun foam on their cards?  Just curious.  Until next time...

Hugs from Brasil.

Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas with Deb and Lisa | October 2024 Edition

Hello everyone!  It's been a few months since I collaborated with my friends Debra and Lisa and it's great to join them again for the October 2024 Edition of The Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas, which happens on the 25th of each month, in hopes that our ideas inspire you guys to start to make or help you in your Christmas card making fun.

This month I have 2 quirky cards to share with everyone.  I know this image of a Holiday Bunny from Lady Stella Creates on Etsy is not for everyone but when I saw the bunny hanging lights on a Christmas tree, I thought it was a fun, quirky image and I had to have it.  He, or she, just makes me smile.

Card No. 1

  • I made a top-folding A2 card using white cardstock to which I adhered some Christmas striped paper.
  • I printed the Holiday Bunny on white cardstock, die-cut it using a 3.75" x 5" stitched rectangle die, and stamped Dotted Merry Christmas from Technique Junkies under the image.
  • I adhered fun foam to the back of the printed image, layered it on red cardstock, and then to the card front.
  • Lastly, I adhered small crystals to the string of lights and to the dot between each of the letters in the sentiment, and a little white pompom to his tail.
Card No. 2

  • I made a top-folding A2 card using white cardstock to which I adhered some Christmas striped paper.
  • I printed the Holiday Bunny on white cardstock, die-cut it using a nesting die from my stash.
  • I die-cut a piece of gold mirror paper using the next size die, layered the white on it, then a piece of fun foam to the back of the gold mirror cardstock, then to the card front.
  • Lastly, I adhered red crystals to two layers of the card front and small crystals to the tree.
I hope you have enjoyed these card ideas and I hope you will find time to visit the other Crafty Elves and see what they made.  All of our social media links are below.

Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste | October 2024 | Halloween Pop-Up and Twist Card with Video

Hello, y'all.  Today I am joining my friends Deb (Meticulosity) and Celeste (Crafting Junky) for a coffee and cards Halloween collaboration. Sadly, it's from afar and I wish the 3 of us could be in the same room having coffee and making cards together.  Today is all about Halloween and the mood board we used for inspiration is below.

And, my coffee of choice today is a tall hot cup of Pumpkin Spice coffee by Farmstand in my fake Canon to-go cup.  Yum!

Lately, I have become obsessed with Pop-Up and Twist Panel cards and have made a few for Halloween and Christmas.  I had never made one until about two weeks ago after watching some videos on YouTube.  It looked intimidating at first, but then, after making my first one, I realized I was being silly.  They are so easy to make.  They are A2 in size and fit in a regular envelope but there is some bulk to the card so you might have to pay more to mail them to someone.

I made a video on how to make this card, which you can watch below, on my YouTube channel - World of Michael Trent, or by clicking HERE

I'm working on a Christmas Pop-up and Twist Panel card and I think I will do a blog post soon with a step-by-step with photos.  As for supplies to make this card, you don't need much:

  • 1 sheet of 12" x 12" solid cardstock or 2 sheets of 8.5" x 11" or A4 cardstock
  • 1-3 pieces of scrapbook-themed papers
  • Double-sided tape or wet glue
  • A scoring board and bonefolder
  • A rubber stamp for a sentiment (optional)
Here is this card with and without googly eyes.

And here is a card with a sentiment stamped on the inside.

I hope you enjoy the card and video as much as I enjoyed making them.  I'm excited to see what Debra and Celeste have made.  You can check out their cards on their blogs - links are below.

Until next time...

Hugs from Brasil.

[PORTUGUESE] Álbum de Menino Usando Minni-Sota do Your Book of Memories e Papéis da Arte Fácil Artesanato

Ola pessoal!

[ENGLISH] Baby Boy Minni-Sotal Album | Your Book of Memories | Arte Facil Artesanato Papers

Hello everyone.  Today I am sharing an album I made for a baby boy using the Minni-Sota Album Tutorial from Your Book of Memories.  I loved learning how to make this album.  The binding/cover is different than anything I have ever made, the waterfall component inside the album is different than anything I have ever made and, I have to admit that, I learned a lot from making this album.

I used the 6 boy papers from the Sweet Dreams Collection from Arte Facil Artesanato, a Brasilian scrapbook company.  There are 12 papers in this collection - 6 for boys and 6 for girls and this album can be made for either using these papers.

**Disclaimer - this is not a paid endorsement of Your Book of Memories or Arte Facil Artesanato.  No money or gifts were exchanged for this post.  I am just sharing my love for these brands.

Below is a video walk-thru of the album that you can also find on my YouTube Channel - World of Michael Trent.  And, below the video, are photos of the album.
