Hello everyone. One year ago my friend Justin Krieger started the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge blog. This week is their One Year Anniversary and they are having a Card Maker's Choice challenge -
And, not only do they have a blog hop happening but you can also win a few goodies! I hope you can check all the posts out, show all the designers some love, and enter a card or project into the challenge.
The card I made for the challenge is a card I made yesterday for someone in town. Her sister's birthday is this weekend and, since her sister is in the first year of Vet school, she asked me to make a card related to both. You would think, with 6 dogs and 3 cats, that I would have stamps and papers related to animals, but I don't. So I went to my favorite site - Etsy - and found THIS adorable digi image of a female vet -
and then I searched a bit more and found THESE digi papers, which I knew would go perfect with the image of the vet.
To make the card I started with a 5" x 7" Kraft card base. Then I printed one of the digi papers, trimmed it to 4 3/4" x 6 3/4", distressed the sides, wrapped a piece of red ribbon around it, made a knot, and adhered it to the card front. After this I printed the digi image of the Vet, 4" high, and colored her in with some Copic markers. Then I trimmed the image to a strip 2" wide by 6 3/4" high, which I adhered to another piece of Kraft cardstock, 2 1/4" x 6 3/4", distressed the sides and adhered this to the card front. Then I adhered a few sequins to the front and "Happy Birthday" to the inside. Done!!
I hope you enjoyed this card. Please let me know what your thoughts are by leaving a comment below. I hope you can find the time to make a project for the challenge. You have until June 19th at 8:00pm to enter it HERE. Until next time...
Hugs from Brasil -
Michael
Oh my goodness, your friend's sister will just adore this! Absolutely sweetest card ever! You know I'm an animal lover right?? :) Thanks for joining us over at SIP this week Michael!
ReplyDeleteHi Tina. Glad you liked the card. Was fun to be part of SIP again.
DeleteThis is a really sweet card and love the background paper...so cute. We have 5 cats and 1 dog but I would love to have another dog if I could
ReplyDeleteThanks Birgit. We have 6 dogs and 3 cats. I would rather have more cats since they are much easier to deal with! But...a dog cuddling next to me with unconditional love is priceless!
DeleteCute card, Michael.
ReplyDeleteThanks HJ! Was fun to make this without a real rubber stamp!
DeleteSomeone is going to be very happy to receive this beautiful card...well done, sir!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lois. The client was beyond happy and so was I. Talk about a challenge!
