Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge Blog Guest Designer | Hero Arts
Hello everyone, and welcome to February. I hope everyone is staying warm and doing well. I'm thrilled to start this month off as a Guest Designer for the February Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge on the Coffee Loving Papercrafters Blog.
The focus this month was to make a coffee-themed Christmas card using products from Hero Arts. As much as I love this company, since moving to Brasil 15 years ago, I have not really bought anything new for a long time due to shipping costs, import taxes, and now tariffs. So I dug into my stash and found two wood-mounted stamps that will work - Envelope Pattern S5507, circa 2011, Cup of Coffee K5332, circa 2010, and Sparkle Clear: Holiday Messages CL244, circa 2008.
This is the card I created for this month's challenge.
This is how I created my card, in case you want to make one like it.
- I made a top-folding A2 card base using red cardstock.
- I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die and adhered it to the inside of the card for a message.
- I stamped Envelope Pattern on a piece of white cardstock in red ink, die-cut it using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die, adhered a piece of red fun foam to the back, and then to the card front.
- I embossed a piece of white cardstock using the Sparkling Snowflakes 3D embossing folder from Crafter's Companion, layered it on a piece of gold cardstock, and then to the card front.
Now for the coffee cups!
- I stamped Cup of Coffee, twice, on white cardstock, masked off the center and top of each cup and, using a Holly & Berries stencil from Brasil, I blended on green ink.
- Then I stamped Cup of Coffee, twice again on white cardstock, fussy cut the center of each image, stamped the Envelope Pattern on top, and glued them to the center of the cups.
- Next, I glued the two cups to the front of the card and applied Red Nuvo drops to the berries, and set it aside to dry.
- Lastly, I stamped one of the greetings from the Sparkle Clear: Holiday Messages set, layered it on red cardstock, and then to the card front. And, I added 5 red enamel dots to finish off the card.
