Image
Hello everyone, and welcome to the August 2025 Edition of the Crafty Elves Countdown to Christmas with  Deb  and  Lisa .  If you are new here, on the 25th of each month, we (the Crafty Elves) post one or more holiday cards in hopes that we inspire you to start  making your own so that, come November, we have cards ready to mail.     .       This month I used Christmas Collage from Viva Las Vegas Stamps .  I've had this stamp in my stash for years, and it felt great to put some ink on it.  If you are interested in this stamp, check out THIS link.  You can buy this stamp wood mounted, on cling, or as an unmounted stamp.  To make this card: I made a 5.75" square card base using red cardstock, and adhered a piece of white cardstock, 5.5" square to the inside.  I cut a piece of holiday paper, 5.5" square, and adhered it to the card front. I stamped Christmas Collage on white cardstock using Onyx Bla...

Yes It's A Holiday Collab | Happy Global Sleep Under the Stars Night

Hello everyone, and welcome to a new "Yes, It's a Holiday" collab with my Instagram friends Debra and Lori .  Today, August 8th, we are helping to celebrate Global Sleep Under the Stars Night.  It's a day to get people to appreciate the beauty of the night sky by sleeping outdoors.  The event was started in 2020 by Eddie Bauer to help celebrate his brand's 100th anniversary.   To read more about today's holiday, just click  HERE . To help celebrate, I made today's card using Mountain Adventure and Glamper Greetings .  Both of these sets were made by Stampin Up and, although retired, you can still find them for sale on Etsy or Ebay.       I made my card base using dark blue cardstock.  Then I cut a piece of white glittered cardstock and adhered it to the card front. I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using a 3.75" x 5" stitched rectangle die. I stamped the mountain from the Mountain Adventure set, masked it off using Ec...

Wednesday Returns | KCS Designs by Kim | Halloween Cards | Wednesday-isms

Image
Hello everyone.   This is a short post celebrating Wednesday Addams and Halloween.   I am a huge Wednesday Addams fan, and I'm happy that the 2nd season of Wednesday returns tonight.   The other day, I was working on some Halloween cards using the Tangled Souls Journal Papers from KCS Designs by Kim , and I realized that one of the papers in the collection looked like Wednesday Addams.  I had to make a few cards using this image.  And, since she is known for her morbid wit and detached demeanor, I wanted to use some of her quotes on the cards too.   All 3 cards use the same image - doesn't she look like Wednesday?  One of the cards has a simple Happy Halloween sentiment on the front, and the other two use quotes I found that could be used on a Halloween card.    This card uses a simple Happy Halloween sentiment on the front of the card ,and inside is blank for a message.     This card uses her quote ...

Embrace Your Inner Witch | KCS Designs by Kim Design Team Project | Halloween Cards

Image
Hello all.  It might be August, but Halloween is right around the corner, and today is a great day to start to make some cards.  Today's cards are Design Team Projects for KCS Designs by Kim  on Etsy, and they are super easy and fast to make.   I used one of the papers from both the  Carnival of Shadows Journal Papers  digital kit, and the  Mixed Media Paper Purples and Greens digital kit.   The Carnival of Shadows kit has 20 different images of haunted, creepy, gothic, and disturbed employees of the Haunted Circus that only comes to town in October each year.  For my card, I used Wicked Wanda, the witch.  For the background, I fell in love with the Mixed Media Paper Purples and Greens because it has all of the colors of Halloween - purple, lime green, and black.  Card No. 1   I made a top-folding A2 card using black cardstock. I printed one of the papers, die-cut it using a 4.25" x 5.5" stitched rectangle die...
