Happy Pork of July | Woodblock Wednesday Card | Hambo Stamps

Hello everyone, and welcome to another Woodblock Wednesday -  the day of the week we set aside to give some love to woodblock stamps that we have not used in some time.    I am joining my friend Amy, who posts a Woodblock Wednesday card to her blog on the last Wednesday of each month.  Check out her blog post...HERE...to see her card and the giveaway she has if you enter a card of your own. 


This will be a short post to share a card that I have been wanting to make for years.  Today's card uses 2 woodblock stamps from Hambo Stamps, which sadly closed in 2014.  Neither stamp has a name but one is a pig in a hammock, and the other is the sentiment "Happy "Pork" of July" - both circa 2009.  

Now, between you and me, I am not happy with the card because I used a piece of blue cardstock as my base and the markers I used came out much darker than I wanted.  I will be making this card again soon using white cardstock and will have a more in-depth step-by-step.      

What I used:

Rubber stamps: pig in a hammock and a sentiment "Happy 'Pork' of July" - both from Hambo Stamps which closed in 2014.

Paper Collection: 2 digital papers from the Vintage July 4th Paper Collection from JennyLDesigns on Etsy.  

Dies: the seagulls are from Flying Gulls from Memory Box - circa 2017.

Markers: BIC Intensity Ultra Fine Tip markers.

I also used real sand on the island and Lagoon Stickles for the waves and I paper pieced the hammock using a scrap of paper from my stash.

Introducing Bella Bulb - A Member Of Craft Hoarder's Anonymous

When I was first approached to be part of the StencilGirl/Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge blog hop, I just laughed out loud!  Me?  A craft hoarder?  Duh!  Not only have I been hoarding craft supplies for over 20 years but when I moved here to Brasil from New York City, I took it all with me.  And then I started to hoard Brasilian craft supplies. Whooo Hoooo - More Stencil Blog Candy!!!

It's time for some more StencilGirl Stencil Blog Candy!! Whooo Hooo!!   But this time it involves two blogs.  Kate Palmer, also known as Sparkle Tart, because she has " never met a sparkly product that she didn't love", has written a blog post today show how to use my StenDoodle technique with Copics!!
