Coffee and Cards with Deb and Celeste | Father's Day Edition

Hello everyone and Happy Father's Day to those that are celebrating.  Today I am joining my friends Deb (Meticulosity) and Celeste (CraftingJunky) for their June Coffee and Card Collab.  Each month they make a card based on a specific mood board, theme, or color, and they talk about the coffee they are drinking that day.

My coffee for today is just everyday Brasilian coffee by Melitta, which, in my opinion, is the best and smoothest.  It's being had with my chocolate chip loaf in my fav cup.  Not the loaf, the coffee.

And the mood board that we had to work with is below.  Lots of tones of brown and, since today is Father's Day, I thought I would make a quick card using scraps from my stash.

The first thing I did was to make a top-folding A2 card using brown cardstock.  Then I die-cut a piece of white cardstock using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die and adhered it to the inside of the card.

Because the mood board is filled with brown tones, I went through my stash of papers, pulled out 5 scraps, and cut them into 1" x 5.5" strips.  Then I turned them over, and, on one side only, marked 1/4" in on the bottom of each side, and used a metal ruler to trim the pieces.

I adhered the 5 pieces to a piece of Kraft cardstock leaving about 1/8" between each piece, die cut it using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die, adhered a piece of fun foam to the back, and then adhered it to the card front.

To finish off the card...

I stamped Happy Father's Day from Technique Junkies on a piece of white cardstock and die-cut it using a stitched banner die.  Then I die cut a piece of the brown cardstock using the next size-up banner die.  I adhered the sentiment to the brown and then to the card front.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.  Please remember to go check out what Deb and Celeste made on their blogs.  Until next time...

Hugs from Brasil.

Hang 10 | Learn To Surf | Technique Junkies Surfing Card

Hello everyone and Happy Saturday!  When we go to the beach I love to sit and watch the surfers on the waves.  It must be an amazing feeling to be riding a wave.  And, surfing is huge here in Brasil.

When I saw the new Hang 10 stamp from Technique Junkies I knew I would be doing a lot of coloring and, I also knew that the surfboards on Hang 10 would go perfectly with the Learn to Surf stamp.  Because Summer will arrive soon in the USA, and it's always summer here in Brasil, I thought this would be a fun card to make.

  • First, I stamped Hang 10 on white cardstock and used my Scan N Cut to cut the surfboards with a small border.  You can also fussy cut then if that is your thing.
  • I colored in a few of them and then applied glossy accents to each surfboard so they would have a glossy when dry.  Then I set them aside to dry for a few hours.
  • While they were drying, I made a top-folding card using blue cardstock.
  • I die-cut a piece of light blue cardstock using a 4" x 5.25" stitched rectangle die, and embossed it with the Waves 3D Embossing Folder from Memory Box.
  • I stamped Learn to Surf on white cardstock, die-cut it with a rectangle die, layered it on a piece of blue cardstock, and adhered a piece of fun foam to the back.

  • I adhered the embossed waves piece to my card front.  Then I adhered the sentiment to the card front making sure to leave room for the surfboards.

  • Lastly, I adhered the surfboards to the bottom of the sentiment using wet glue and foam squares and I also adhered a piece of white cardstock to the inside for a message.

Done!

I really love this card if I do say so myself.  LOL.  The glossy accents on the surfboards really make them pop.  What do you think?  I'd love to know...leave a comment below!  If you love this stamp or anything else on the Technique Junkies website, you can save 10% at checkout by using my code - TJ10Michael.

Until next time...

Technique Junkies | June New Stamp Release | Flip Flops - Glass Slipper of the South

Hello everyone and welcome to the June 2024 New Stamp Release with Technique Junkies.  This month there are 14 new stamps - all screaming SUMMER!  All the new stamps in the release are 15% off through Saturday, June 8th.  And, if you use my code - TJ10Michael - you can take 10% off the rest of the website.

If you love and want ALL the new stamps, grab the
Gotta Have It All Bundle, all the new stamps for $91.73.  These stamps would normally cost $122.30. You save $30.57 by buying the bundle.  It's a great deal and it's as if you're getting a few of the stamps for free.

To help celebrate the new release, I made these fun, colorful, and easy cards using the new Flip Flops Background stamp and I paired them with The Glass Slipper stamp.  These two stamps were made to go with each other.  The Flip Flops Background stamp is the perfect stamp to color, paper piece, or you can stamp it on a colorful background and let the paper do all the work for you, which is what I did.

Here is how I made these cards if you would like to give them a shot, also.

  • I made 2 card bases.  One with purple cardstock, the other with white.
  • I went through the Art For Everyone pad by Vicki Boutin (American Crafts) until I found 2 designs that I knew would look great - one was more yellow, the other more purple and I cut a piece from each sheet.
  • I stamped the Flip Flops Background on each one.
  • Then I die-cut the yellow piece using a stitched rectangle die, adhered a piece of fun foam behind it, and then to the purple card front.  For the purple sheet, I adhered it right to white card front and trimmed away the excess paper.
  • I stamped The Glass Slipper on two pieces of white cardstock, die-cut them using 2 different banner dies, layered them, and adhered them to each card front.
  • Lastly, on the purple card, I adhered a few purple crystals.
Here is the purple card base with the yellow paper -

And here is the white card base with the purple paper.

I love them both but, do you have a fav?  I'd love to know.  Below are links to the blogs of the Technique Junkies Design Team and I hope you will find the time to go check out what each of them has made to kick off the June release.
