I'm Back.....with Retro Rubber Challenge No. 65

Hello everyone!  It's been too long since I have posted anything here because I was back in NY for a month.  Although I brought stamps and supplies back with me to play with I never made any of the ideas I planned on making.  It was a nice trip.  I got to family, catch up with some friends, and take care of some things.  I got back a week ago finally found some time to make some cards that I wanted to share with you guys.

My apologies if the photos are not great....I now have a Mac and am learning how to work with photos!  Talk about stress!!  LOL

The two cards at the top I made for both a card swap (left side) and for the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog (right side).  For the card swap I had to use a stamp by either Penny Black or Stampendous.  So I decided to use the sketch in the current Retro Rubber Challenge No. 65 to make the card, which is this one -

I started with an A2 top folding card base.  I found a piece of scrapbook paper in my stash with with leaves on it.  I cut a piece and adhered it to the top of the card.  Then I cut a piece of white cardstock, 4.25" x 4.5", on which I stamped the vine (Art Gone Wild - Retired), then the monkey image (Going Ape by Penny Black - Retired), and finally the phrases (Elephant Hearts by Sweet Stamp Shop - retired).  Crazy but all 3 of these stamps I have owned for years!

I then colored in all the images using various Copic markers.  When done I adhered the cardstock to a piece of white fun foam, which I then adhered to the card front so it sat below the paper but raised up a bit.  I also adhered a few green sequins to the card front.

Done!!  So cute and so easy!  I hope you enjoyed this card and it feels great to be making cards again!!  I'll be back soon with more crafty goodness!

Hugs from Brasil -

Michael

  1. So glad to see you back with us Michael! And with another beauty of a card. Most amazingly of all, you came back from NY with new goodies and then stamped up a storm from your stash! That little piece of leafy paper works a treat with the cute monkey and vines. The sequins are the perfect finishing touch! Thanks so much for joining us at Retro Rubber.

  3. Yo, Michael! Love these cards! I am not much of a "monkey" person, but I would love having this one in my stash. The designer paper is perfect with it! So glad to see your entry in this week's Retro Rubber challenge!

    1. Hi Katy. Not much of a monkey person either. More of a pig person. But I do like how this guy came out too. Glad you love the cards! Was fun to play along again.
