Cuppa Joe Card With The Paper Players

Hello everyone.  I have some friends here that have a rubber stamp company and I am in love with so many of Fran's images.  I was able to get some from her when I saw her at the Mega Artesenal last week and was very happy to put some ink to one of them today for this week's challenge over on The Paper Players Challenge Blog.  

This week's challenge - No. 354 - is a sketch - 

I started with a top folding A2 card base to which I adhered a piece of designer paper that I had in my stash.  I love these warm "coffee" colors.    

Since I did not have the phrase I wanted to use in a stamp, I created it on the computer and printed it on white cardstock.  Then I cut the cardstock to 2.5" x 5.5" and stamped the coffee cup with the hearts 3 times across the center, above the phrase, and then colored them in with some Copic markers.  

After this I cut a piece of dark brown fun foam, which I adhered under the white cardstock.  Then I adhered these to a piece of darker brown cardstock, 2.75" x 5.5", which I then adhered to the card front.

The last thing I did was to apply some Clear Wink of Stella to the hearts and the cups to give them a shimmer - and I was done!  

A super simple card to make and the cups can be any colors you want.  Of course now I want a cuppa Joe!  LOL  Let me know what you think of the card by leaving me comments below.  Hope you enjoyed this card.  Until next time -

Retro Rubber Challenge 67 - Rainbow Colors

Hello everyone!  I hope everyone has been well.  I am finally getting over the flu.  We went to the Mega Artesenal last week, which is the largest arts and crafts festivals in Latin America.  It only happens one week per year and as soon as one ends I am waiting for the next to start.  Well, this year I got there for the first day and then got really sick, came home and stayed in bed for several days.  I was not happy but....stuff happens.  LOL   Now just counting down the days until July 2018.  HaHa!

Today I have a card I made for the current challenge over on the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.  This week's Challenge No. 67 is all about rainbows or rainbow colors!  Considering how bright my work usually is, this was a no-brainer.  I decided to go a bit artsy with a stamp with a great phrase and some paintbrushes with....you got it....rainbow colored paint on the tips.  Let's get started....

I started with an A2 top folding card base of white cardstock.   I went through my stash and found a fun multi colored paper, which I adhered to the card front.  

Next, using the stitched rectangle from the Bundle of Stitched Shapes set (Simon Says Stamp), I cut a piece of white cardstock and stamped the "Life is a Canvas" image (Technique Junkies) on the left side and colored the word "canvas" with rainbow colored Bic markers.  I then cut a piece of white fun foam, adhered it to the back of the white cardstock and then I adhered both to the card front so the colorful paper gave it a border.

Next I used 2 stamp sets from Papertrey Ink - the Friendship Jar stamp and the Friendship Jar Fillers stamp set.   I stamped the jar on both a piece of white cardstock and a piece of acetate.  Then I cut them out using the matching die from the Jar and Lid set.  Then I stamped the paintbrushes, colored them in with rainbow colored Bic markers and fussy cut them out.  

Next I adhered the brushes to the jar on white cardstock.  Then I adhered the acetate jar over the brushes so they look like they are in a glass jar.  Lastly I put a few pop dots on the back and adhered the jar to the card front next to the phrase.  

Done!  I am in love with this phrase and this jar of brushes.  I think I may need to redo this project on a canvas for the wall.  What do you guys think?  I hope you enjoyed this card and I hope you can find time to enter your own card into the Retro Rubber Challenge!!  Until next time....

Happy July 4th Card with Reverse Confetti and Avery Elle

Good morning everyone!!  I want to wish a very Happy 4th of July to all of my American friends and family, in the USA and abroad.  Yes, Laurey, this means you in Canada also (LOL)!  I would also like to wish the U.S.A. a very Happy 241st Birthday! Although today is just regular day here we are going to try and make a BBQ for lunch.  I am also making chocolate chip cookies for a "July 4th" party we are going to tonight over at CNA, one of the English schools here. Can't get more American than chocolate chip cookies.  

Before I get to today's card I just want to tell you guys that I was a winner on last week's sketch challenge on the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog!  Yay!  I'll be a guest designer on a future challenge.

Today I have a fun July 4th/Independence Day/Happy Birthday to the USA card using a few Confetti Cuts Dies from Reverse Confetti.  I started by grabbing a piece of red, white, and blue cardstock and cutting each of them several times using the Triple Chevies Confetti Cuts die.  I then cut some stars out of white cardstock using the Shakers 'N Frames Confetti Cuts die.

Then I grabbed a piece of scrap white cardstock and adhered the pieces in a red, white, blue pattern randomly using different sizes of each of the colors. 

When done I cut it using the large dotted rectangle die from the Dotted Elle-ments set from Avery Elle, which cuts the piece to 4" x 5.25" with a beautiful dotted border.  

I adhered this to a piece of white fun foam and then adhered it to the card front.

Using the Circles 'n Scallops Confetti Cuts die I cut a piece of the blue cardstock with the large scallop die and adhered it to the card front.  Then I typed up the sentiment on the computer and printed it on white cardstock.  I used the large circle die to cut out the phrase, which I then adhered to the blue cardstock.  The final step was to adhere the white stars I cut earlier with a fine tip glue.
