Stamp Ink Paper Challenge No. 25 - Faux Watercolor Cards

"Faux Watercolor" Card

Hello everyone!!  So...how much shopping did you guys do over the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend?  A lot?  A little?  None?  I was very good and only bought some stamps from Unity Stamp Co. They were giving 60% everything.  And I got a bunch of new stencils from StencilGirlProducts because I am in need of new stencils and they had a great sale!! Cannot wait to get my hands on these stamps and stencils.  Other than that, I was a good boy!!  Tell me what bargains you got!!

This week over at Stamp Ink Paper they are having a card maker's choice challenge and I am going to enter one of my "faux watercolor" cards, which I did last week.  It's their 25th week and you have until Sunday to enter a card of your choice into the challenge too.  Just click HERE to be taken to the challenge post.

So, what is a "faux watercolored" card?  Glad you asked.  LOL.  Honestly, I came up with this name when I found this "faux watercolor" paper called Shine from Pink Paislee in my stash.

I love how the paper has already been watercolored for me.  No need to pull out the paints, the brush, the H2O.  Just cut!  Which is how I started the cards - I did 4.  I cut 4 pieces at 4" x 5.25" trying to get most of the faux watercolor on each piece.

Then I grabbed my Versafine Black ink pad and stamped up two images from the Palettini Line at Technique Junkies - Dust or Magic (PD001) and Life is a Canvas (PD004).

Two of the cards I stamped the image in the center of the 4" pieces, then layered on a piece of black cardstock (4 1/8" x 5 3/8"), under which I adhered a piece of fun foam, which I then adhered to the card from.  Final step was to adhere some sequins to the card front.  Done!!

Here is the other card I did with the plain front.

And here are the other two cards.  For these, the only difference is that I die cut the watercolor piece with the scallop die from the Die-namics Blueprints 1 from My Favorite Things, and then I stamped the phrase.  Then I used the same scallop die on a piece of fun foam, adhered this to the watercolor piece, popped some brads into the corners and adhered to the card front.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this post.  There are so many companies making papers like this recently and I hope you can find some and make some quick "faux watercolor" cards!!

Please...leave me a comment and tell me which one you like the best!!  Until next time...

Hugs from Brasil -

Michael
